"That will be seven dollars and fourty-three cents." The cashier at McDonalds smiles at Keenan.

He hands her a twenty dollar bill and she takes her time counting out his change before slipping it back in to his hand. "You're Keenan Moore, right?" She asks, her brown eyes twinkling like stars.

"Yeah," Keenan smiles and steps to the side so others can approach the register. "You know about me?"

"Of course," She smiles. "I hear your song on the radio all the time, I love it.."

"Thank you, I really appreciate it." Keenan replies.

"You're welcome," The girl flashes another smile before the next customer in line steps up.

Keenan puts his change in to his wallet then looks around the busy restaurant. It's early in the morning so everyone is packed inside trying to get a McDonald's breakfast. He's only here because Kiara and Marcus asked him to pick them up the breakfast platter before he headed over there to work on more music and start planning a music video for Back Against the Wall.

He figures that he can't keep moping around the house waiting for the clinic to call him. So to distract himself he's thrown himself into more work. Lyric writing, figuring out beats, planning interviews with radio hosts. Marcus is happily keeping him busy and keeping his mind off Aubrey. But in those moments where he has time to just think, Aubrey and Neveah are the first things to slip in to his mind.

"Order number 26," The second cashier calls. Keenan walks over to her and takes his bag. "Have a good day."

"Thanks you too," He says, heading for the door. The original cashier that he paid smiles at him and he holds up his palm to her as a brief sign of goodbye. Pushing through the door, he almost rams in to someone entering the restaurant. "Oh I'm sorry..." He words trail off when he recognizes the girl staring back at him. "Khelani,"

"Hey," She says softly and looks at the ground.

"I haven't heard from you since we were at my sisters house." He says.

"Yeah, I've been busy."

"No you haven't,"

"Well it's not like you made an effort to call either." She says, catching an attitude.

Keenan nods his head sheepishly, "I know and I'm sorry." She rolls her eyes and he points to a nearby table. "Can we sit down?"

Khelani sighs and walks pass him, she sits down in the chair and crosses her arms and legs, not even bothering to look at him. Keenan sits across from him, ignoring the stare from the cashier he was talking to.

"The reason I didn't call you is because things with Aubrey have gotten complicated." He tells her.

"I thought you said y'all were over." Khelani comments.

"We were...we are...but, even though we're not together I still care about her. Janine said that Aubrey confronted her and she bursted out in tears. I feel like she's in trouble and that it has to do with her new boyfriend."

"Why is that your problem?"

"Because she was once my girlfriend and I don't want anything to happen to her just because I'm selfish and heart broken, I'm not that kind of person." He says, finally admitting what's been dwelling in his mind for weeks.

"Doesn't her baby belong to her new guy anyway?" Khelani asks.

"I don't know, we took a DNA test and any day now the results will be in."

Now Khelani looks at Keenan, her brown eyes burning in to him. "You got a DNA test?" He nods. "What are you going to do if the baby's yours?"

Keenan shrugs his shoulders pitifully, "I have no idea."
