Janine beeps twice as she backs out the driveway. Keenan waves goodbye to her and Carson then walks into his house where his father and Marcus are sitting on the couch watching a basketball game on tv.

"Hey," He says coming into the living room and setting Neveah's carrier by his feet as he sits down in the chair beside them.

Marcus daps him and his father nods his head, "How was the outting?"

"Yeah, where did you go?" Marcus asks.

Keenan chuckles and unbuckles Neveah, lifting her from her seat. "They took us to the zoo," he pauses and lets them laugh for a moment. "Janine said it would work as the perfect distraction and it actually did. Neveah had fun looking at all the animals and I have to admit, being at the zoo brought back a lot of childhood memories of class field trips."

"That was nice," His dad says and holds out his hands to Neveah. "Come here chunky butt."

Neveah glances down at his hands before reaching out to him. He smiles and lifts her from Keenan's lap and places her onto his thigh, bouncing her up and down. "You had fun at the zoo?" He asks and she just smiles as usual.

"They took us to Coldstone too," Keenan smiles. "The ice cream was so good even though Miss Neveah tried to hog the spoon the whole time."

"Chunky butt," His dad teases, and tickles her stomach making her giggle uncontrollably.

"The police called me down to the station," Keenan says and both Marcus and his father look at him with expectant eyes. "They did a background check on me and saw the report on what happened last year. Officer Crawford said I had to have a mandatory conference with him. We talked and then he let me go. He checked Janine too since she was involved."

"And did they find anything?" Marcus asks.

"Nope, nothing on either of us." Keenan sinks back in his chair. "They're doing everything they can to find Aubrey though. I just wish they'd hurry it up."

"We know, just give it time." His dad says.

Changing the subject, Keenan turns his head and glances into the kitchen. "Where's mom?"

"Wedding shopping with Kiara and our wedding planner." Marcus bobs his eyebrows. "I didnt know weddings took so much energy, there's so many little details."

Keenan chuckles, "Is that why you're here?"

"Yes, between what Kiara wants and the price it costs, I can hear my bank account crying." Marcus replies, "But I know how important weddings are for women so ima let her rock."

"Smart man," Keenan's dad comments. "I remember when I proposed to your mother and I suggested that we just go down to the justice of the peace and elope to save money, she started tearing up and accused me of caring more about money than her 'special day'. I thought she was crazy but I agreed to the dream wedding she wanted so the water works would stop."

"You should have known you were marring a crazy woman back then." Keenan laughs.

His dad smiles, "Yeah, what was I thinking?" He chuckles. "Nah, but I don't regret it. Marriage is a beautiful thing and women begin planning their wedding at a very young age. I'm talking eight years old and up. So only be ready for marriage if you know you can handle that kind of commitment."

Keenan looks at Marcus slyly, "Can you handle the heat bruh?"

Marcus gives a nervous smile, "If I don't faint at the alter then you'll have your answer."

Keenan laughs and leans back against his chair. This day actually went better than expected. It felt great to take a load off and just relax with his friends and Neveah, and comin home to Marcus and his dad is a nice end to his day.
