[a/n: hey! thanks for checking out my book.... the video above is for LATER, but when it's time go to 2:58. Thanks, and enjoy]
Taylor's pov
Jake came through the door, followed by a short girl in a red dress who I assumed was Tara.
Kevin led the way, beginning to sing "Happy Birthday" for him. We all chimed in, and I threw a couple of balloons in the air at the end since I wasn't recording what was going on.
I like living in the moment, not saving it for later, because that's how you miss what's important.
The lights were flicked on as we all started partying. It was very calm compared to last night, and I got to see the backyard for the first time.
Alex was with me as we walked through the open door leading to outside, "Woah," was all I could say.
There was a massive tiki-hut type thing, with a pool and basketball court. But compared to our apartment with absolutely no backyard whatsoever, this was a fantastic for the both of us.
She smiled over at me, "This is really cool, I've never been in a house with this nice of a backyard."
"Neither have I, it's like we're in Hawaii," I said with an awe-filled tone. We walked over to the Tiki hut and sat down on the stools that matched. "Look," I nodded over to wear Kat and all her girl friends were, taking a photo.
"If only we had that many friends," Alex joked, but I could hear the hint of sadness in her voice.
"We don't need more friends. We have each other," I patted her leg reassuringly.
"But doesn't seeing how everyone interacts with each other make you feel, I don't know, sad?" The inner corners of her eyebrows were raised, giving herself a sad look on her face.
I really thought about what she said, watching the girls as they took pictures. They would prop it up on their trampoline, all run into positions and stay there before running up to the phone to see how it looked. Everyone looked happy.
Everyone except for Alex, who would only watch, "No. It makes me happy to see them happy, and I know they're going to post it on their Instagrams and I don't want thousands of people staring at me. If you really wanted to, we could film a Tiktok," I offered.
Her face went from sad to confused, "Didn't you just say you didn't like being on social media?"
I winked, "Yeah, but I like doing Tiktoks with you. You're my best friend, and I'd do anything with you,"
Alex's face formed a pout, "Aw, Tay. Stop it you're going to make me cry," She patted her pockets for her phone, scrolling through her phone to find a fun one for us to do.
"Okay, how about the one that goes "if you ain't got no money take your broke ass home"?" I asked. "We were going to do that one the other day, remember?"
"Yeah," She looked at me, smiling mischievously, "Do you still remember how to do it?"
"Duh," I flipped up a palm as she set up her phone to record. She pressed the countdown button, and we stood facing each other in front of the camera.
"If you ain't got no money take yo' broke ass home," We sang and I popped my hip out to the beat of the song, looking at the phone before each other.
Just as we practiced, I moved away from the camera, and she moved towards it. Then we went the other way and I wrapped my arms around her neck, moving my body into hers.
She slid her hands along my ribs as the dancing part ended. "I can never do that seriously!" I ducked away from her, laughing too hard and tearing up a little.
