Taylor’s pov
It was like a deja vu moment I had, puking in the toilet the next morning.
It reminded me of when I woke up on his couch after he took me home, when I called Alex and freaked out.
Except this time I actually had a toothbrush here and so I didn’t have to use mouthwash to get the sour taste out of my mouth.
I made my way downstairs, stopping in the first floor bathroom to grab the pedialyte that Jake stashed there for when people in the house were hungover.
I had no idea who stayed, but just from poking my head into the White Claw living room I knew that the house was a mess. So much for Sam wanting to keep the house clean.
If anyone slept over, they were in the movie room because the rest of the house was empty. I didn’t know what to do, so I began picking up the mess in the kitchen. I dumped out the half empty bottles of beer and cans of White claws, throwing them away before picking up the plates of pizza that must have been ordered after Colby and I went upstairs.
There was toilet paper on the floor, a whole roll of it seemed to be all over the floor throughout the hallway leading from the game room and the kitchen.
I opened a new trash bag to put it all in, along with any of the balloons that were deflated. I wiped down the counters with a sponge, something Katrina would normally do but since she wasn’t awake I figured I’d get it done.
I didn’t know exactly where the boys kept the brooms or vacuums, so I checked the laundry room and to my luck everything I would need was there. I didn’t turn on the vacuum since everyone was still asleep, but I did sweep the kitchen and the living room.
I put the cushions of the couch back where they went, somehow one of them ended up outside by the pool.
Sam recently put a calendar on the fridge, and nobody really used it unless Katrina would ask people what the plans were and then she’d write it down. But, as usual, the calendar was empty.
I rubbed my stomach as it growled, wondering what I could possibly eat that would not make too much noise to put together.
It was clear that nobody in this house goes food shopping, the only food in the house being the alcohol and Sam and Colby’s workout meals in the fridge.
I tried one once, having a bite from Colby’s lunch and it was gross. But he insisted they were good and since they were healthy I wasn’t going to complain about him eating them.
With nothing else to do, I made my way back upstairs and to Colby’s bedroom. I was quiet with the door, shutting it behind me before making my way over to the bed.
Colby was sleeping peacefully, now turned on his side and hugging my pillow. His face was relaxed, something I rarely got to see even though he seemed to be laid back a lot of the time.
I laid on my side, facing him and watching him sleep. I had no idea when he’d wake up, or when anyone else would wake up either. It was already nearly eleven in the morning, and by now everyone was usually doing something besides sleeping.
I brought my hand to Colby’s half-hidden face, caressing it with my thumb. As my fingertips made contact with his hair, Colby’s body stiffened and he grunted quietly.
