Taylor's pov
"Here we go guys, going into a mine by ourselves," Sam announced as Colby led the way, bending down so he could get into the hole I found.
"Not the best idea, but that's okay," I shrugged, standing there with everyone else while we waited for Colby.
"It'll be fun, right?" Sam asked, and I turned to see Jake and Corey standing a short distance behind us now, as if they didn't want to go into the mine.
I didn't want to either, but I'm trying not to be a pussy so I don't have a choice.
"Y-yeah," Jake stuttered, not making eye contact with anyone.
"This is our last night here," Sam told him, "Let's make it worth it," as I noticed Colby was far enough in that we could follow.
I bent down, leaning back so I didn't hit my head on the roof of the mine. I had to set one of my hands down on the ground to help guide myself along, and Sam followed closely behind me.
Almost as soon as you got past the entrance, the mine opened up so we could all stand fully. I followed Colby, almost blindly, well technically blindly because I didn't have a flashlight and the others hadn't made it into the mine yet.
"That was interesting," I say slowly, hinting sarcasm.
"Yeah, but it's what we do," Colby pointed out, not trying to sound rude. He was just explaining how it was in the shortest way possible.
I rested all my weight on one hip, letting the other leg pop out as I looked at the walls of the mine. I couldn't get over the fact that people did this. People made this hole. That's what they did for a living.
I wondered if someone told a miner "you're digging yourself a hole," what they'd say. Because that's what they did for a living.
I peeked over at Colby, who was already looking at me with a mischievous grin on his face. "Wha-" I couldn't finish my sentence because he lunged towards me, wrapping his arms around me from the side and swinging me around so his back was facing Sam and the camera.
He placed a quick kiss on my cheek before spinning me so I was facing him, with his hands on my shoulders.
We quickly noticed we were being filmed, with the lights now facing towards us and not towards Corey and Jake.
I punched Colby in the chest, lightly and jokingly. The way his mouth dropped open in fake shock was so funny I couldn't help but laugh.
"Guys...." Sam tried to point out that we were on camera, not that we couldn't tell. I was being blinded by the light, so all I could really see was Colby, anyways. His back was to the light, so it wasn't having the same effects on him as it was for me.
Maybe we were being too noisy, with our feet sliding across the ground, but I couldn't see why Sam couldn't just ignore us and film the others. Or better yet, put the fucking camera down.
Colby grabbed the strings of my hoodie, pretending to wind up his fist. I held my hands out towards him, trying to put his fist down, but I just couldn't stop laughing so it took away the meaning behind what I was trying to say.
"They do this all the time," Jake defended us for the camera, and Colby tapped my shoulder lightly with his fist before running off. Not far, and he ran in the direction we were heading.
I only chased after him for a couple of steps, enough to scare the poor boy.
I walked back up to the others, watching as Corey caught up from where he was coming into the mine still.
