Angelina’s pov
“Colby, what is it?” I asked with annoyance, barging into his room and shutting the door behind me, rather forcefully.
He was on his couch, sitting there with his elbows on his knees and his hands folded together.
I was here per Colby’s request, a phone call, rather. I was to show up alone, and he needed to speak to me.
“We need to talk, but not here,” He said quietly, grabbing his keys off his coffee table and brushing past me, making his way out of his room.
“Why can’t you just tell me here? I had to put my plans on hold just to come meet with your stupid ass,” I really had nothing to do back home, scrolling through Tiktok in my slippers and sweatpants.
But Colby still annoyed the shit out of me, so I really didn’t want to be here.
He didn’t answer me until we were both in his stupid red Toyota Corolla, something that Taylor used to talk about all the time.
“I never expected him to have a car of such size,” She said once, before taking a bite of her salad and continuing with what she had been saying before, “He’s such a big tough guy but drives a little car. It’s cute, though,”
“Look, this is kind of important, okay? I know you hate me, but I need to talk to someone and there are some people who just wouldn’t understand,” He said as he pulled out of the gates and onto the road, beginning to drive.
We drove for only all about ten minutes, pulling into a dark alleyway on the shadier side of town.
If I was with someone who I actually enjoyed keeping company with I would have made a murder joke. If I was with Taylor, I definitely would have.
I never understood the bond she shared with the purple-haired guy sitting beside me. The look in her eyes when she thought about him or when she was around him how her smile would be just a tad brighter.
To me he was just a cheating, lying son of a bitch who she should have broken up with before they began dating. But I wasn’t around then to influence her actions.
She’s simply too good for him. She is too good for anyone she hangs around with. Even me.
He put the car in park, took off his seatbelt and turned to face me.
“Please tell me I can trust you,” Colby began, “What I tell you cannot be told to anyone, especially Taylor,”
“It’s not good to keep secrets from the ones you love,” I sang, copying his actions.
“This is to protect her, I swear to god I would never hurt her,” The look in his eyes made me want to believe him, but I knew better.
“So fucking around with Alex isn’t hurting her?”
“That’s what I came to talk to you about,” He ran his fingers through his hair, something Taylor told me he did when he was nervous or angry. Or simply his hair looks bad and he tries to fix it in a mirror or anything with a reflection.
“I’ll listen,” I sighed, leaning forward to show him he had my full attention.
He explained everything to me, how he got in the situation with Alex to where he is now, going out in public and leaving hickeys on her neck.
