Taylor's pov
"Do you guys remember when I was talking to you about the ghost town with the treasure?" Colby asked. Corey, Jake, Colby and I were standing in front of a camera that Sam was holding for their Cerro Gordo adventure.
After Colby came back into his room last night, we ended up staying awake for another hour, talking about random things. But we fell asleep while we were talking about Cerro Gordo as Colby fed me the information I would need to not look like an idiot today.
"Yeah," Jake said as Corey and I nodded.
"Wait," Sam interrupted, "Speak a lot louder,"
Jake got close to the camera, repeating what Colby said while we laughed quietly.
Colby repeated the question, speeding along to get to the point of what he was trying to say, "I found the guy who owns it, his name is Brent Underwood, and we have a Zoom call in five minutes,"
"No way, actually?" I asked, and Corey shook Jake and I's arm as he jumped up and down.
"Yeah," He smiled, "There's ten million dollars worth of silver buried underneath this town somewhere,"
"Five hundred million," Sam corrected, and I looked back and forth between Jake and Corey who were both equally excited as I was.
"Wouldn't it technically be his though?" Jake asked, raising an eyebrow at Colby.
"I say we go mining and get rich," I pounded my fist into my hand, "Like a hit and run, but with silver. So like a take it all and dip,"
"It's his but that's why he invited us down," Colby explained.
"What happens if we find it? What's the split, and what does he get?" Corey asked.
"I say ninety-ten. We get ninety," I nudged him before looking over at Colby.
"We'll ask him," Sam agreed, pointing at Colby.
"I say we knock him out and we take it and run if you know what I'm saying," He pretended to run off without actually moving his feet.
I heard Corey laugh next to me, "She just said that, like ten seconds ago brother,"
"Let's try to find out what this treasure is all about and see if we have the chance to find it," Sam said as he set the camera down.
"This is so interesting, I've never actually done this before," I clapped excitedly as we all headed inside to the White-Claw wall room.
"Just a heads up, it isn't a true trip unless Sam and Colby try to get someone killed," Jake said, patting my shoulder.
"Usually it's me with all their demons and shit," Corey reassured me when my eyes went wide.
I laughed nervously, "Are we talking to demons? I thought we were treasure hunting,"
"I mean you talk to Colby," Jake pointed out, causing Colby to turn around and shoot him a look that he ignored, "He's the closest thing to a demon,"
"So that is why you're room looks like Satan's sex dungeon!" I said, nudging Colby as we walked into the house.
"Yeah that's definitely it. He probably plays the ouija board with his di-" Jake was cut off by Colby.
"Okay. Not while we're on a zoom call," He said quickly, and I found it funny how his cheeks were turning a pale shade of red that he tried to hide by holding up the camera.
We all got adjusted on the couch, and I sat in between Corey and Sam, with Jake on the other side of Corey.
I watched as the screens connected, and Sam began talking, "Anyway thanks for getting on a call with us. So the town is called Cerro Gordo, right?" He clarified, though we all knew the answer.
