Room Search

Sunday night I went back to the dorms, everybody seemed a lot quieter than usual. It was strange. "What's going on? Everything's way to quiet." I asked as I walked into the living room.
"The Bakusquad pratically came face to face with Mind Freak yesterday. I'm not sure if you heard but they robbed a bank, Mind Freak killed 9 people alone. The Bakusquad was right down the street when it happened. They got there as the van was driving away and saw Mind Freak in the back closing the doors." Midoriya explained.
"They're really beat up about it and are sad they couldn't do anything." Iida said as he looked up at me. "We've tried everything but they've been in a slump since they got back last night."
I sighed, I'm not necessarily in the mood to deal with right now but I had to. "I'll go check on them, where are they?" I asked.
"I'm pretty sure they're in Mina's room." Iida replied. I thanked him then went to Ashido's room.
When I got there I softly knocked on the door, "Hello? It's Shinso, I wanted to check in on you." I said. A few minutes later the door opened and Kaminari weakly smiled at me.
"Hey. Sorry, come in." Kaminari let me inside and I  started to examine the faces of the Bakusquad. Most of the looked sad and disappointed, Bakugo on the other hand had nothing but anger written all over his face.
"I heard what happened, are you guys ok?" I asked, trying to sound as concerned as possible.
Ashido looked up at me and gave me the same weak smile Kaminari had. "Yeah, we're good. It's just frustrating, you know? The villains were right there and we couldn't do anything but call the police. It sucked." Ashido replied, her voice sounded broken.
"I'm sorry, I wish I could've been there to help." I said.
"You could'nt have done much anyway, it's not like any of us have liscences." Bakugo scoffed. The next few hours consisted of the Bakusquad going back and forth on what they wish they could've done or what they'd do if they caught the villains. At some point I was just sitting there, drowning everybody out with flashbacks of last night. Had I really killed 9 people? It seemed like so few in the moment. I tried to pin point every kill but couldn't, it was all just a blur of flames and blood.
"Shinso? Are you ok? You have a really weird smile on your face." I heard Kaminari ask, pulling me out of my thoughts.
"Oh, yeah, sorry. I was just thinking about something." I replied. Kaminari simply nodded then went back to talking with the rest of the Bakusquad. I actually felt kind of sad seeing these guys look so upset. They were always so happy and cheerful, it felt so wrong to see them so upset. What could I do though? I'm kind of the reason they're like this in the first place, the worst part is I don't regret a single thing that happened last night. Just what kind of monster am I?
The Bakusquad was slowly getting more cheerful as time went on, it wasn't like normal but it was a lot better than when I first got here. I convinced them to play a boardgame and they agreed, saying it would help take their minds off things. "Your move, Kaminari." I said after ending my turn.
"You know you can call me Denki, right? We're freinds, man. You don't have to be so formal." Kaminari laughed, making the rest of the Bakusquad nod in agreement.
"Yeah, dude. It feels weird still having you call us by our last names." Ashido added. I looked down at the game board, not being able to figure out what the hell I was feeling.
"You guys can call me Hitoshi if you want, if we're dropping formalities." I replied, quietly. When I finally looked back up the Bakusquad all had smiles on their faces.
"You're way to shy, Hitoshi. You're a part of the Bakusquad, we have to change that." Denki said before he threw an arm around my shoulder. The rest of the evening went on with me and the Bakusquad playing random games before breaking off to go to bed. I couldn't sleep though, I had to many thoughts running through my head.
"They consider me a friend." I said to myself. Did I consider them friends? They're heroes, I'm a villain, those things can't mix. They couldn't possibly see me the same way if they knew who I really was. No, I know they wouldn't. I see the disgust on their faces when they watch news stories about Mind Freak and the league, they hate us. I sighed and rolled onto my side, pulling my legs to a chest. "I feel so disgusting."

I was woken up by alarms blaring throughout the dorm. I quickly got up and opened the door, seeing everybody on my floor running downstairs. I walked behind them, seeing everybody gathered in front of Eraserhead in the living room. Once I was there the alarms stopped. "Sorry to do that to you, but I needed you all gathered. There's a rumor going around that Mind Freak may be a UA student so the principal's requiring we do a room search of every student. You all need to stay in here, I'll be back once the search is complete." Eraserhead said before heading to the rooms.
"Can he even do that? Isn't that like, an invasion of privacy?" Eijiro asked, looking around the group for some form of agreement.
"I guess they can if the circumstances are great enough." I replied, looking back at the rooms. I was glad I moved everything to base, I would've been fucked otherwise. The class decided on watching a movie until Eraserhead finished the search.
He finished an hour or 2 later, coming over and standing in front of the tv the moment he finished. "You're all cleared. The only thing I found were these in Shinso's room." Eraserhead said as he held out the pack of cigarettes I kept under my pillow. Shit. "Care to explain?"
I sighed, "Can't a guy just live his life without being questioned?" I asked, though Eraserhead did not find this amusing. "It's an old habit. I'd like to keep them, I spent my own money on those."
"Not a chance, I'm confiscating these. If I ever find out you have these on school property again you'll be in deep shit." Eraserhead told me before he shoved my cigarettes into his pocket and walked out of the dorms.
Everybody's gaze turned to me with questioning eyes. "Shinso, you smoke? You know that's against the school rules, right?" Todoroki said.
   Great, just great.
