So Close

I woke up to see Denki staring up at me, "Goodmorning." I said as I started to stretch my body out.
"Goodmorning, how do you feel?" Denki asked.
"I'm fine, why?"
Denki smiled at me, "No reason. Let's go downstairs for breakfast, yeah?" I nodded as Denki started getting up. I followed and we went downstairs together. The second we stepped foot downstairs we heard the class talking weirdly loud. We walked further and saw everybody gathered in the living room around the tv, "What's going on?"
"The cops have a lead on Mind Freak. They ambushed him yesterday and left him in a position where he had to leave one of his knives behind." Mina said. I rolled my eyes. Ambush was an overstatement, it was one cop. I guess it's not surprising that they'd make themselves sound better though.
Denki ran over to the couch so I slowly followed. "Do they know who it is?" Denki asked.
Mina shook her head, "No, they found traces of the victim's DNA but not his. He must've known better than to grab his knives bare handed." Mina sounded disappointed.
"If anything he's smart, you can give him that much." Denki sighed, though I took that as a compliment. Katsuki started calling eveybody over from the kitchen, saying breakfast was ready. The class gathered around the table, still talking about me. I could tell this was going to be happening all day and I was already over it. I sat at the table, just slowly picking at my food until we had to go change into our uniforms and leave for class.

"Guys, a few photos were just released by someone on Twitter! It's of Mind Freak and Shigaraki walking down the street to some restraunt, a few pictures were taken inside aswell." Eijiro said, running over to show the Bakusquad his phone as we were walking back to the dorms after class. This quickly earned my interest, I don't remember seeing anybody take pictures of us yesterday. I looked at his phone and it's true, there sat 4 pictures of Tomura and I from last night. Luckily for me you can't see me all that well since people were constantky running up to me. You can see my chin but that's about it.
"It sucks that you can't make out who Mind Freak is, this would've been golden if his face was fully in it." Mina huffed as she crossed her arms.
"Yeah, but by the looks of it they were constantly crowded by people. It must've been hard to take pictures at all." Katsuki said, the rest of the group agreeing with him. I was internally panicing, I was so fucking close to having my identity blown and I didn't even notice? You're fucking kidding me, how much have a let my fucking guard drop since I got here? I can't afford to let this happen anymore, I had to stop getting so comfortable.
When we got back to the dorms I went straight up to my room and called Tomura. "Hitoshi? Everything alright?" He asked as soon as he picked up.
"Have you seen the pictures that were on Twitter?" I asked, anxious.
"I have, but it's fine, Hitoshi. You can't make out your face in the slightest, it should be fine." Tomura tried to calm me down but it didn't work.
"That's not the fucking point though, Tomura. The point is that this asshole was able to follow us around and I didn't even notice! I've always noticed when I was being followed, how did I not notice him?" I practically yelled, quickly quieting down once I remembered there were heroes right downstairs, "I've let my guard down, that's what I'm freaking out over. My cover was so fucking close to getting blown, all because I'm getting comfortable around these assholes."
"Relax, kid. It's alright. Come here for the day, alright? We can all take the day off and do whatever you want, help take your mind off things, yeah?"
"Yeah, ok." I agreed, hanging up the phone after exchanging a few more words. I changed out of my uniform, throwing on a hoodie and jeans before going downstairs.
"Hey Hitoshi, where are you going?" Momo asked, she was sitting on the couch with multiple of our classmates. Everyone's eyes were on me.
"I'm going to my family's for the day, something's going on and I need to be with them today." I replied. Nobody questioned it so I took off, lighting a cigarette the second I walked off campus. I haven't been this stressed out in so long, I almost forgot what it felt like.
The second I walked into base I was wrapped into a hug by Himiko, "Never fear, Toshi. We won't let them get you, ever! You're safe here." She claimed, making me laugh. Himiko led me to the living room where the rest of the league was sitting.
"Hey kid, I poured you your favorite." Dabi said, holding a glass out to me. I thanked him and took a swing of the drink before collapsing next to Dabi on the couch. In all honesty I just wanted to get wasted, I can't deal with this right now. I said this, and that's exactly what happened.
The league and I spent the night playing a variety of drinking games. The only one that barely drank was Himiko, she didn't like alcohol all that much so she usually sat out and played parent while the rest of us got drunk. By the time I had to head back to the dorms I was completely drunk, all the way to the point I could barely walk. "Hitoshi, you have to go back to the dorms you know." Himiko sighed.
"I'm knew, it's be fern." I replied sloppily. Himiko once again sighed, taking one of the viles she had and downing the blood that was inside. She turned into some girl I didn't recognize and took me by the arms.
"I'll walk you back to the dorms, let's go." She said as she started walking me out the door. The whole walk back I was basically slung onto Himiko, completely unable to walk on my own. When we got back to the dorms she knocked on the door, one of my classmates opening it not long after.
"Hitoshi? Is he alright?" I heard someone ask, though my vision was too blurry to make out who it was.
"He's alright, just very drunk." Himiko replied, "Can I walk him to his room?" Whoever it was agreed and told Himiko where my room was. She practically drug me through the building until somebody ran over and helped her. I don't know who that was either.
When we got to my room they gently placed me on my bed and covered me up with blankets. "Are you one of Hitoshi's friends?" I heard a voice ask, I instantly recognized it as Denki's.
"I am, I'm so sorry about this." Himiko apologized. I heard the door close as somebody crawled into the bed next to me.
"I wish you didn't drink, it messes up your body." I heard Denki whisper as he wrapped his arms around me. He said something else but I couldn't understand it. My head was fuzzy and my ears rang, though I felt myself black out as Denki continued to speak.
