I'd lost track of time for a while, all I know is that I've spent quite a bit of time with Denki and the Bakusquad. Today was my first day back on missions after quite a while. I finally felt ready to go back out there with the league, plus, my new costume was finally finished. I didn't make all too many changes but I had a new mask made and had the hood from my jacket removed. I didn't need to hide my face anymore so I figured I might as well make my costume look better, and I loved it.
As I got dressed I admired the alterations in full before walking out into the living room, going to show it off to the league. As I approached them I instantly gained their attention, "What do you guys think?" I asked.
"Looking badass kid, definetly better than your other costume." Tomura said.
"Agreed. Your old one was starting to look run down and messy." Dabi followed as he got up. Tomura got up aswell and started walking to the door, indicating it was time to go out on the mission. We loaded into the van that was waiting outside and took off without wasting too much time.
As we were heading over I got a phone call from Denki, we still had a little while to go so I answered. "Hey, what's up?"
"Hey, Toshi! You busy right now? The Bakusquad and I were going to go see a movie and wanted to see if you wanted to come with." Denki said.
"Sorry, I can't. I'm out right now." I replied, keeping things brief.
"You're out? What do you mean?" Denki asked, confused.
"I'm out doing something." Tomura motioned his hands to wrap it up, I figured we were almost there. "I have to go, I'll talk to you later." I said, hanging up before Denki could say anything else. I got a text right after but muted my phone and slid it into my pocket. Right as I did this the van stopped, indicating that we've arrived. It was a simple heist of a small shop but I still felt excited, I was so ready to get back to this.
Tomura threw the van doors open and ran out, Dabi and I following close behind. Tomura led us into the small shop, telling me to take out the cashier and take the money. I did as I was told and hopped behind the counter, grabbing the small man behind the cash register and shoved one of my knives into his throat. I felt a smile creep onto my face as I saw blood start to pour down his neck and he became limp in my arms.
I retracted my knife and got to work on the cash register, quickly forcing it open and loading the money into a bag I was given. "Hitoshi, get her!" I heard someone yell. I looked up and saw a woman start running towards the door in panic, she must've escaped from Dabi. I dropped the bag and quickly jumped back over the counter, unsheathing a knife and running into her, my knife penetrating her on contact. She looked at me in agony, her hands moving to where the knife was placed in her abdomen. I twisted the knife before pulling it out and putting it back in it's sheath, going back to grab the bag.
"Crusty! Hurry up, we're behind schedule!" I called out when I noticed the time. Tomura yelled something back but I couldn't hear him. Moments later he emerged with Dabi in tow. We fled from the shop and loaded into the van before taking off, sirens blaring in the distance. I collapsed onto the van floor the second we got inside and burst into laughter. I couldn't even describe what I was feeling, it's beyond any happiness I'd ever felt before. I felt invincible.
"Jesus kid, you look like a psychopath." I heard Tomura say with a small laugh.
"Yeah, the blood on your face really helps build the whole look." Dabi joined in.
I sat up, a smile planted on my face. "Who knows, maybe I am a psychopath. I'm not sure how else to describe me." I replied.
"You're one of us, that's how to describe you." Tomura said as he ruffled my hair. Shortly later we arrived back at base and grabbed the bags before jumping out of the van. When I walked inside I heard laughter coming from the living room. I placed my bag on the bar and walked over to see what was going on. I froze as I saw Himiko sitting on the couch with Denki.
They turned to look at me, Denki's smile quickly faded. "Hey, Hitoshi. Welcome back!" Himiko said, her smile still wide.
Denki got up and walked over to me, instantly placing his hands on my cheeks. "This is what you meant by out doing something?" Denki asked as he dragged his thumb across my cheek. When he pulled it away it was stained red.
"Well, yeah. It's what I do." I replied, slightly shrugging. Denki's gaze fell to the floor.
"Toshi-"
I looked over and noticed that Himiko was watching us, "Let's go to my room and talk about this, yeah?" Denki didn't respond, though he didn't resist when I pulled him to my room.
"I thought you stopped." Denki said once we were in my room.
I looked at him comfused, a slight laugh escaping my lips. "I never said that I stopped. This is who I am, Denks. This is what I enjoy doing. I was just taking a break to get my shit together, I thought I told you that." I replied, only making Denki shrink back more, "What's wrong? I thought you said you didn't care if I was a villain."
This got his attention, "I don't! I still seriously love you, but- It's a lot to take in if we're being honest. I feel bad too because I told the class you stopped." Denki said while playing with his fingers.
I sighed, "Denki, I'm going to be honest with you. I'll probably never stop being a villain, it makes me happier than I can imagine being. It makes me almost as happy as being with you."
"I-I'm sorry." Denki said as tears started streaming down his face.
I walked over to Denki and pulled him into my arms. "Don't apologize, from your perspective it's only logical for you to want me to stop. Sadly, that's just not that something I can do." I replied.
Denki wrapped his arms around me, "I understand. This is just going to be hard to get used to." Denki replied, looking up and giving me a weak smile.
"This may be a bad time, but you may be slightly blood covered now." I said, making Denki quickly jump back. Sure enough, there were red stains on his white t-shirt.
"Shit! How do I explain this?" Denki yelled as I started to laugh. "This isn't funny, Toshi!"
"You're overreacting, just borrow one of my hoodies. I can wash your shirt here, I need to wash my costume anyway." I said while gesturing my hands to my blood soaked costume.
Denki blushed, "Oh, yeah. Right." I laughed again before walking over to my dresser and pulling out a clean hoodie.
I handed the hoodie to Denki then started towards the bathroom, "I'm going to shower real quick, feel free to change then do whatever." When I returned I found Denki curled on my bed, his head buried in my hoodie. "You look comfortable." I said.
Denki nodded, "I'm keeping this, it smells like you." I smiled as I went over to grab Denki's shirt. I threw it over my shoulder and on top of my costume. I then went to throw them in the washer and returned to my room, placing my knives on the nightstand before lying next to Denki and wrapping my arms around him. Denki snuggled close to me and dug his head into my chest. "Let me stay here tonight?" Denki asked.
"Of course, love. You're welcome here whenever." I replied, making Denki lean into me more. I closed my eyes, taking a moment to enjoy the warmth of Denki's embrace. I started hearing soft snores coming from Denki, shortly falling asleep myself.
