An unexpected visitor during vacation turns into a romantic relationship.

(Y/N) and her family are on vacation at her grandparents' home for two weeks during the summer. One night, she hears a strange cry, but the sound isn't heard for long. She thinks it must be a storm siren warning people about a dangerous storm. The next day, (Y/N) enjoys dipping her feet in the ocean when she hears soft sobbing. She investigated and saw a merformer sitting on the rocks. (Y/N) noticed that the merformer was all scratched up.
"I'll get help," (Y/N) tells the merformer.
"No!" The merformer cries as (Y/N) gets her phone from her bag.
"What? You need help."
"No, I am different, and I'll be sent to a lab to be experimented on," the merformer explains.
"My family?"
The merformer agrees though he still worries he'll be betrayed once he's healed as he watches the femme call her family.

Within twenty minutes, the merformer is by the pool as (Y/N) takes care of the wounds. Even with the brief time he got to know (Y/N) before she left him to rest, Smokescreen falls in love with her even though they just met.

The next three days added to this feeling, as the two learned a lot about each other. Smokescreen dreads the third day of his unexpected visit, when (Y/N) tells him he's healed enough to leave. He knows he can't beg her to stay and that it's too soon to say he loves her. Smokescreen knows a kiss on the lips isn't a great idea either, but does it, anyway. He smiles at the girl he loves before swimming away. He doesn't get far into the ocean before looking at (Y/N)'s grandmother's house; tears roll down his face as he cries.

Smokescreen tries to move on but finds himself back at the beach by (Y/N)'s grandparents' house and cries.
(Y/N) hears the familiar sounds m again and rushes down to the beach. She is crushed seeing Smokescreen cry.
"What's wrong?" She asks as she sits next to him.
"I know we just met three days ago, but I don't want to be alone and want to stay with you."
Smokescreen hugs (Y/N) as he cries.
Unknown to the two, (Y/N)'s grandfather is watching them. Even though Smokescreen is a metal mermaid, he is reminded of when he fell in love with his wife at (Y/N)'s age.
This would be an unusual relationship, but if they love each other, then I support them.
He watches them for a few minutes before going to bed.
"Shh, it's ok," (Y/N) assures Smokescreen, "I'm certain you'll be welcome to stay here and come home when my family leaves."
