Smokescreen and (Y/N) go to Los Vegas, but not on vacation. (Y/N) wants to find good Mother's Day gifts. Smokescreen worries she's spending too much money.

(Y/N) asks Smokescreen to take her to Los Vegas. He doesn't mind the four-hour drive, but he wishes the trip was longer and for fun. (Y/N) tells him she needs to find the perfect Mother's Day gift, and Jasper's shops lack anything good. She knew she'd have to explain what Mother's Day is.  It's Wednesday afternoon; Smokescreen tries to convince her to stay in the city until Saturday rather than leave Friday morning and enjoy a mini vacation. However, (Y/N) worries she'd end up home late.
"Why not a trip to Vegas?" Smokescreen asks.
"No, that's not good enough."
Smokescreen questions if (Y/N) is worrying too much. He can't ask the Autobots' other three human friends now.

(Y/N) sleeps most of the drive. Smokescreen worries she's stressing herself out for no reason, even if he just learned about this day humans seem to consider important.
Do I need to limit what she buys? Smokescreen wonders.
While (Y/N) is asleep, Smokescreen calls Optimus.
:: That is concerning. :: Optimus comments,:: there's not much you can do without risking (Y/N) feeling you're being controlling.  ::
:: I worry she won't think about how much she'll spend., but if I say anything.::
:: I doubt (Y/N) will spend too much. ::
:: I hope you're right. ::

Smokescreen tries not to worry as he and (Y/N) get dinner.  Hearing (Y/N) talk about what she's hoping to find tomorrow doesn't ease his concern.
I don't know how much these items cost, but will she be spending too much? Smokescreen worries.

After a nice breakfast the next morning, (Y/N)'s search for the perfect gift begins.
Smokescreen knows enough about Earth currency to know the two walked into an expensive jewelry store. He watches (Y/N) look at the necklaces. She isn't pleased with the price of a few necklaces.
"May I help you?" A femme employee asks.
Smokescreen is relieved to hear (Y/N) has a budget. However, he's unsure if two hundred is too high for a Mother's Day gift.
"This is exactly what you're looking for," the employee says while taking out a box with a silver heart with a ( mother's birthstone) in the center on a silver rope chain, "this beauty is priced at one-hundred-fifty dollars."
(Y/N) decides to buy the necklace. Smokescreen is not liking that (Y/N) says they're not done shopping for her mom.
This is what I was worried about. Smokescreen sighs.

"A neck and back massager?" Smokescreen asks.
"It's cheaper than one massage, and Mom could use one. One more stop, and we can go home; the flower shop."

Smokescreen isn't sure if (Y/N) spent too much on the gifts.
Maybe two-hundred-eighty dollars is cheap. I know a vacation is much more expensive, but was this too much? Smokescreen questions. It's not my place to say anything. We didn't have this on Cybertron — or we did, but with the war going on.

Smokescreen didn't think (Y/N) would have him come to her mom's house on Mother's Day with her.
Her mom is more thrilled he came over than wondering why her daughter brought a friend.
"How lovely, thank you both," (Y/N)'s mom smiles.
Smokescreen can't correct her that her daughter bought everything, and (Y/N) doesn't correct her mom. He can't say anything as he watches the femme smile while putting the necklace on and placing the roses bouquet on the dining room table.
"Mom, we have one more surprise," (Y/N) smiles.

What is this last surprise? You decide.
