Til Death Do Us Part

Megatron sits on the berth, staring out the window at Earth's night sky, remembering the day he thought Optimus betrayed him. The day he began the war that never seemed to end. Countless lives were lost, and Cybertron became uninhabitable. The war ended with Megatron finally confessing he loves Optimus. He doesn't know when this change in feeling towards Optimus happened, but this ended the war. Cybertron is revived, but much work has to be done. Optimus put Rodimus in charge. He made the change official rather than telling Rodimus to say he was dead. Megatron and Optimus are staying on Earth with a few other Autobots. Megatron knows they'll have to return to Cybertron one day, and he'll have to face furious Cybertronians.

Optimus is eager to test Ratchet's attempt to make Earth cake for Cybertronians. For now, it's a lilac-colored Energon in a circle with a taste that resembles Earth cake.
"It's not even close, but this is a successful first test," Ratchet smiles.
Optimus plans a date for tonight. Even with all his speeches during the war, Optimus is nervous.

The two mechs sit at a table in their berthroom, enjoying Ratchet's attempt at Earth cake. The silence isn't helping Optimus' nervousness.
"This is good for Ratchet's first try," Megatron comments, remembering the times Optimus and Megatron would be in holoform eating Earth cake, "you're quiet tonight. What's wrong?"
Optimus sighs, "it's been five Earth years since the war ended," Optimus begins, "after centuries of war. I can't believe how our lives are every day, but I also want to spend the rest of time with you." Megatron watches Optimus stand up and get on one knee before him. One arm behind Optimus' back for a few seconds. Optimus moves that arm, revealing he's holding a black box. He opens the box containing a ring, "will you marry me?"
"I - yes," Megatron smiles. The two make out, and Optimus puts the ring on Megatron's digit, "I'd rather have a private wedding."
"I can respect that request," Optimus assures him, "more time alone with you. When you're ready, we can plan a celebration with everyone."

Rodimus marries the two men in a simple, private setting. Both mechs holding hands, with tears rolling down their faceplates.
"...my loyalty is to you, Optimus," Megatron finishes his vows.
Rodimus declares the two married. After the kiss, the newlyweds go to their berthroom. Ratchet sees Rodimus smiling as the newlyweds walk down the hall.
"As the humans say, get your mind out of the gutter!" Ratchet scolds, whacking Rodimus' shoulder.

Optimus and Megatron did have a little fun after the wedding. Both already hoping to add to the family. As strange as it seems, this is the one time Optimus loves when Megatron wants control. Megatron worries he'll go too far and hurt Optimus, even with the mech's high pain tolerance.

A month has passed, and both still can't believe they're married. They enjoy the sunset tonight. The two watch a Cybertronian ship land ten feet in front of them. Neither recognizes the ship, hoping they don't need to fight whoever is on it.
"You will atone for your crimes!" They yell and charge toward the couple.
Optimus watches the Cybertronian fight Megatron, who is only defending himself. Optimus doesn't recognize the Cybertronian, concluding they weren't fighting in the war, but must try to stop them.
"Stand down, you may not have fought in the war, but an Autobot would give mercy when first facing their enemy."
"He never gave anyone Mercy!" The Cybertronian yells, "centuries fighting for our freedom! Millions of lives lost!" They aim their canon at Megatron's chassis, "no mercy!"
Optimus watches Megatron go down. The mech runs away. Optimus is angry the mech did this, as he watches Megatron bleed out, but he can't go after them. Megatron isn't offline, but Ratchet won't be able to help him.
Not enough time to get Megatron to medbay. Optimus observes.
"This is how it ends, huh?" Megatron smiles, "I shouldn't be surprised. What surprises me is that you lied."
"I didn't lie. Remember all the times I tried to get you to surrender? Even while trying to kill you, believing it was the only way to end the war after centuries of trying to get you to surrender, I hoped you'd surrender. I'd rather see you in Cybertronian jail than dead. Until..."
"Until, like me, your feelings changed."
Megatron coughs up blood. Optimus knows he doesn't have much more time. Megatron doesn't say it but hopes Optimus is sparked, even if he won't watch the little one grow up. Optimus holds Megatron in his arms until Megatron offlines. Hating he's now planning a funeral.
