(Y/N) questions if she had it all wrong as she watches Magnus in a fight with Predaking.

(Y/N) listens to Optimus talk about Magnus. Realizing the Autobot leader is trying to hint that Magnus likes her. There's no other reason to say Magnus is honest and would never hurt anyone. They stay by the stream for a while before going back to base.

"I've done all I can," Optimus tells Magnus, "I can get the others to come with me once the kids go home."
Magnus nods and goes to his berthroom to think of a plan.

As the time approaches, Magnus feels anxious. Afraid of rejection. What would he do if that happens? He doesn't want this to result in (Y/N) leaving the base and never returning.

For the first time since Ratchet programmed them, Magnus is using his holoform. He knows it won't help him if (Y/N) doesn't like him, but it'll be easier to talk to him.

(Y/N) thought Optimus was the one Knockout in her door, not expecting to see Magnus using his holoform. She remembers the day Ratchet programmed the holoforms, and she helped the bots figure out their holoform appearance. She's distracted by how handsome Magnus' holoform is until she hears him clearing his throat.
"(Y/N), I've never been in a relationship before, and you being human adds to the challenge, but I want to try. I-if you want to? I understand if you don't want to. I'm not liked, just respected by most."
"I'll think about it."
Magnus nods and goes back to his berthroom.

"So stupid! Having to say, because she's human makes it a challenge, and it's like saying I don't like you. So stupid!"
Magnus deactivates his holoform and lies on his berth, lubricant leaking from his eyes.

(Y/N) suspects Optimus talked to Magnus, and the two have his permission to be in a relationship. June might question how it's ok but get used to it. Then there's Bulkhead, Miko, and Wheeljack. (Y/N) suspects those three will enjoy joking about the relationship for a while. To have the one she loves to joke about her will be hard to deal with, but (Y/N) figures he'd make a joke if she told him how she felt herself. Even though Magnus loves her, she doesn't feel the same way. She decides to give him a chance.

"I know you don't like me like I like you yet, but -," Magnus cuts himself off.
(Y/N) sits on his servo. She notices the plating under his optics is darker.
Is that like what happens when humans cry? (Y/N) wonders.
"Yeah, we can try this."
Before either can say something, Ratchet informs everyone that the system detects an Energon mine. It's been a while since (Y/N) joined the bots on a mission, but she decides to join this time. Magnus is a little worried and liked how (Y/N) wasn't looking to go on missions for a while.
A simple Energon cave investigation, she'll be fine. He tells himself.
Though he's not pleased that Miko gets to go with him and Wheeljack.

The team didn't think they'd find a lab, nor did Shockwave expect Autobots. After arguing with Starscream via commlink, Shockwave rushes into a groundbreaking, and the team realizes Shockwave had set the clones free.
"Permission to create a bomb, sir?" Wheeljack asks.
Magnus sees how the wrecker can achieve this and allows Wheeljack to blow the lab up. Bulkhead and Magnus transform and speeds off to get their human partners to safely.
Not expecting a groundbridge to open and a predacon to walk out.
:: The Predaking. :: Magnus confirms.

Wheeljack escapes the blast of the bomb. Reaching the surface, Optimus waiting for him.
"The others should have made it out," Wheeljack tells him.
Optimus rushes into the cave.

Bulkhead protects the two humans as Magnus tries to get the now enraged Predaking away from the way out of the mine. (Y/N) is unsure why she feels worried watching Magnus fight Predaking when she's watched many fights. Miko watches tears roll down (Y/N)'s face as the two and Bulkhead hear Magnus cry out in pain as Predaking crushes Magnus' hand and he offlines.
"Come on, (Y/N). We have to move."
"She's in shock. Bulkhead, carry both femmes to safety."

(Y/N) feels like she was dreaming, but she's not as she watches Ratchet repair Magnus' servo. The second in command is still in stasis.
"He'll be fine, (Y/N)," Wheeljack assures her, "he fought like a wrecker."
Ratchet lets (Y/N) sit on the operating table.

(Y/N) feels like she's waited hours to see Magnus' optics online. Realizing the feeling she's been feeling isn't only fear she'll lose s friend, but the mech she loves. Uncertain if she had it wrong this entire time or if Optimus talking about Magnus has gotten her to fall in love with the mech.
Magnus sees (Y/N) on his chassis, and tears roll down bee face. He doesn't dare move as he hears Ratchet is still repairing him.
He didn't think (Y/N) would kiss him as she promises to help him with recovery. Going by his research and what he's been told, (Y/N) loves him but isn't ready to say anything. He only hates how the battle with the Predaking got her thinking she'd lose him.
"I love you with all my spark," he smiles until he sees the damage to his servo is not repairable.
"Sorry, it's the best I could do," Ratchet tells Magnus, "but this doesn't affect your holoform."
Magnus and (Y/N) are a little embarrassed. Ratchet heard everything while busy repairing Magnus' servo.

Once Ratchet lets Magnus leave the medbay. Hhe goes with (Y/N) to her room.
(Y/N) didn't think Magnus would activate his holoform to kiss her even though he's been waiting a long time. Still finding it hard to believe someone loves him, even if she's human.
