(Y/N) loves Wheeljack, while Ultra Magnus loves her.

(Y/N) met the Autobots a few months after Jack, Miko, and Raf. Recently, she's been allowed to move into the base, which Miko is jealous of since it's not for (Y/N)/s safety after the cons attacked or found out where she lives. No one knows that (Y/D) asked if she could live in the base both because the rental agreement for the house she lives at is up - good thing Prime didn't ask if (Y/N) could renew it- and because she wants to be closer to Wheeljack, who's not pleased to have to stay at the base. She loves how he's rebellious and his jokes. (Y/N) knows Optimus could see such a relationship as unacceptable, but what about Wheeljack? (Y/N) is afraid to ask him.
"(Y/N)? Hello?" Jack tries to get her attention, "I know that look; you're thinking of something."
"And what if I am?!" She snaps.
"Are you ok? This is Miko's behavior, but not typical of you."
"I..uh...," (Y/N) makes sure no one is around, "you think you could ask Wheeljack about being in a relationship with a human? It's better if another guy asks."
"Uh, ok..."
Sure (Y/N), because there is no way Wheeljack will think I'm the one interested in him. Jack thinks as he goes to find Wheeljack.

Jack finds Wheeljack cleaning his swords in the training room, and the room shows he had just finished working out.
"Uh, Wheeljack?"
"What? Think you can't come near me with these swords?"
"Uh, this is going to seem random, but what do you think of being in a relationship with a human? Not me, but in general?"
"I never thought about it. I love just being a loaner coming and going as I please and not having to be tied down to anybody or anything. Well, until now, but this will only last for a while, and the war will be over soon enough."
Oh, boy, I can't tell (Y/N) this. I hope she doesn't ask me to tell her.

(Y/N) doesn't want to nag Jack to tell him what Wheeljack told him, but his silence worries her. She knows Jack would hate to upset her.
"You ok?" Magnus asks.
"I'm fine," (Y/N) lies and walks away.
Magnus can tell she's lying. Hating she won't tell him, but not because he's second in command. He watches (Y/N) approach Wheeljack, anger building that (Y/N) would talk to the wrecker but not him. Believing her facial expression shows she likes the wrecker.

Magnus decides to research human relationships. He knows he should ask Optimus and Ratchet though he feels embarrassed. He knows June would be a good source but is likely against this relationship.

June is uncertain about a human dating an Autobot but knows it's not her place to say anything. Optimus makes the decision. She tells him about humans and relationships.

Ratchet finds it odd Magnus is asking about relationships even if he's asking about Cybertronians in relationships.
"Since when are you interested in relationships? And with who?" Ratchet interrogates.
"Uh...."
Ratchet drops the subject and resumes his work. Magnus is most nervous about talking to Optimus.

Optimus figured Wheeljack is talking about (Y/N) and is afraid to talk to her. After talking about what he knows about human relationships, Optimus tells Magnus he'll talk to (Y/N), and hopefully, she'll talk to Magnus. He'll have to wait until tomorrow.

The Autobots end up busy with the cons the next day. Optimus is unable to talk to (Y/N).
(Y/N) stays in her room until she knows the kids are back.
"....he doesn't want a relationship," she hears Jack tell Raf, "even if it's not because she's human, I can't tell her."
With tears rolling down her face, (Y/N) goes back to her room.

(Y/D) does her best to avoid everyone, getting food when she knows the Autobots and kids are elsewhere, but knows she can only keep this up for a while.
Late afternoon the next day, she leaves the base using the groundbridge. Not questioning who used the coordinates set to an area by a stream.

(Y/N) doesn't know she opened a bridge to a place Optimus likes to go for peace and quiet. The leader questions why a groundbridge is opening. Hiding in the forest in case it's cons. Although relieved, it's not cons; Optimus questions why (Y/N) is at the location. Believing she just used the previously entered coordinates. He watches the femme sit by the stream.
Something troubles her. Optimus observes.
Optimus activates his holoform to talk to (Y/N). Not prepared to hear her cry as he gets close to her.
"(Y/N), are you ok?" Optimus asks as he sits by her.
"I'm just thinking how stupid I was for falling in love with Wheeljack. No wonder he never noticed how much I love him. I shouldn't have known since Im human. He probably thinks holoform wouldn't be the same no matter how much they function like humans."
"It's not something we thought would happen, but Magnus is the one after your heart."
"And Bulkhead said Primes don't joke."
"It's true, Magus has been learning about human romantic relationships, and he discretely asked me permission if a relationship can happen.
You know Magnus is a good, loyal Autobot. You need to give him a chance."
Optimus knows he can't force (Y/N) to love Magnus but can help a friendship form between the two. Magnus knows this is what Optimus is doing. Now it's up to him and (Y/N) to decide if they'll be just friends or in a romantic relationship.
