Smokescreen is unprepared for the next chapter in his life.

"This isn't how the story is supposed to end," Smokescreen says, as he watches Optimus offline.

The battle concludes as Smokescreen makes his way to the scene. Seeing the Autobots struggling to retreat. All Smokescreen can think is this is not how things are supposed to go.

As the team drives to the military base Fowler believes will keep them hidden, Smokescreen tries to think about a way to tell everyone the news.
"Who am I kidding?" He sighs, "no matter what I say, they'll be angry with me."

Smokescreen keeps his distance from everyone, but knows he has to tell them soon.
"What's with you, kid?" Bulkhead asks.
"I... uh..."
"How are you going to be a leader if you can't tell your teammates anything?" Arcee asks.
Great, now she put me on the spot. Smokescreen sighs.
"You're right; I need to do better because... I am now the leader-."
Arcee and Ratchet laugh.
"We'll find Prime," Ultra Magnus jumps in.
"N-no, we won't," Smokescreen sighs, "I went back to the base after the cons blew it up. Prime was in terrible shape, and there was nothing I could do. T-the matrix of leadership c-chose me to be the next Prime. I swear I wouldn't let Prime die because my chance was right there."
"Easy, we know while you have ambitions to become a great leader, that you wouldn't let Prime die," Ratchet assures him.
(Y/N) overheard the conversation. While feeling sad that Optimus is gone, she feels like she should tell Smokescreen how she feels.

Smokescreen finds a small hanger to claim as his room. He didn't see (Y/N) sneak in before closing the door. She looks at him, scared, which confuses Smokescreen.
"What's the matter?" He asks, hoping it's not about Optimus' death.
"I-I," (Y/N) pauses. Smokescreen can tell she's scared. She closes her eyes, "I love you."
(Y/N) keeps her eyes closed, unable to see Smokescreen smile before activating his holoform. The few seconds worries (Y/N) until she feels Smokescreen hugging her.
Smokescreen waits for (Y/N) to look at him before kissing her. Quickly the kiss gets heated and the two undress each other, not caring about the only option is the floor. Smokescreen tries to lay his clothes so (Y/N) isn't laying on the cold floor as they have their fun.
"So, does this mean we're together?" (Y/N) smiles as Smokescreen holds her close after their fun.
Smokescreen replies by kissing her.

Smokescreen struggles to adjust from being a rookie to a leader. Ultra Magnus continues his position as second in command though he's didn't a little more advising than that role entails. Especially with the current situation at hand. (Y/N) does her best to be supportive even if she can't go on missions with him.

Two weeks trying to keep the cons from getting predacon fossils left (Y/N) unaware that she is late with her period. She doesn't realize it until she throws up. To everyone else, she must be sick with a bad cold, and Ratchet still insists on making sure it's nothing serious.

"Doc, you look like you've seen a ghost," Wheeljack jokes as everyone sees how surprised Ratchet looks. Even with (Y/N) standing beside him, everyone struggles not to think that Ratchet found something Seriously wrong with (Y/N). Until she finally tells them she's pregnant, "ah, so it's shocking that another human will be around," Wheeljack laughs.
Smokescreen can't believe he will be a sire, but he's not as terrified as he's been with his leadership role. Even though with both, he knows the Autobots have his back. Even though he's not happy with the idea of a baby at the base, Ratchet insists on being (Y/N)'s doctor.
"So, did I get a prison sentence?" (Y/N) whispers to Miko
"I heard that!" Ratchet scolds.
Even with the concern of the current situation, everyone is happy that (Y/N) and Smokescreen will have a sparking.
