Whirl enjoys her time away from the other recruits bullying her, and being with (Y/D) after classes has been a good change. Until Chae and Heatwave find out.

Whirl has been able to leave the base without question daily for the past month. There's been little arguing between Whirl and the other recruits. Still, Heatwave worries the reason Whirl leaves the academy is to avoid the others. Even if she shows up to class and can get to scenes of emergencies quickly, this is concerning to Heatwave.

He tries to talk to Whirl, but she claims that there's nothing going on. She just found a way to deal with the others bullying her. Heatwave doesn't want to follow Whirl or forbid her from leaving, but he finds her suddenly leaving daily odd.

"We're going to get caught," Whirl worries.
"You think we'd be in trouble?" (Y/D) asks.
"I don't know if he'd contact Optimus and your aft gets sent back to Cybertron. I could even be expelled!"
"Or I'd be allowed to stay with you at the academy. Though I wouldn't be able to be part of the rescue team. Let's not worry about that for now."

"You know Whirl wouldn't do anything wrong," Chase argues, "she found a place to go rather than deal with the others bullying her. Which we need to deal with."
Heatwave couldn't believe what Chase is suggesting following Whirl tomorrow when she leaves the base. Though they don't think she's meeting a Decepticon.

".... I don't know if I can keep doing this, (Y/D)," the two mechs hear whirl say from behind trees. They see a mech that's the same height as Whirl. The mech's armor resembles snake scales, though he has arms and legs.
They watch the mech hug Whirl.
"I don't like seeing you like this, but I don't have any solution we'll both like."
Chase and Heatwave hate seeing Whirl crying.
"So there's been another Cybertronian here, Whirl found him, and they're now more than friends," Chase whispers..
The two know Whirl and (Y/D) will not like finding out they've been spied on, but now is the time to talk to the two.

Whirl panics seeing Chase and Heatwave, believing she's in so much trouble. (Y/D) hugs her, hoping to keep her calm.
"You're not in trouble," Heatwave assures her, "I'm concerned with the fact that you thought you had to keep this secret."
"Also, if (Y/D) doesn't have suitable shelter, then this fear is preventing you from helping," Chase adds.
Then I've failed as a rescue bot. Whirl believes.
"She was afraid she'd be in trouble," (Y/D) argues, "and wanted an excuse to get away from the other recruits who bully her, and you two do nothing about it!"
Chase and Heatwave figured Whirl would talk about the bullying. They try to explain to (Y/D) that they've been trying to deal with the problem.
"Let me stay at the academy," (Y/D) insists, "though I'm not going to be good on the rescue team."
Chase and Heatwave agree. Which Surprise (Y/D) and Whirl since (Y/D) is a stranger to them.

"You think they know?" Whirl asks once she and (Y/D) are in her berthroom.
"Likely, and that'll be one problem solved. We don't have to pretend to be just friends. If the others bully, I'll deal with it."
Whirl trusts that (Y/D) won't cause problems but hopes Heatwave will deal with the others.

"...you will leave them alone," the two hear Heatwave before seeing he's talking to the other recruits before dismissing them, "they better listen, or they'll deal with me. How do you feel about helping the recruits training, (Y/D)?"
Whirl is happy that (Y/D) will help Heatwave with lessons.

"I think those two are dating," Hot Shot claims.
"And?" Medix asks, "are you Jealous?"
"No!"
"Then it's not a problem. Leave them alone."
"Maybe now he'll stop bullying her," Hoist adds.
"You guys do it too!"
Quickly the three are arguing about who's bullying Whirl. Resulting in Chase and Heatwave hearing the arguing and lecturing the three bots. Deciding lessons about respecting each other is way overdue. Thinking (Y/D) can help with those lessons. Hoping to deal with the problems they were hoping the recruits would deal with these.
