Ironhide already has an attitude, but it's much worse when he's sparked. Ironhide thought his attitude was the worst of the pregnant until the sparkling is in a hurry to be born, and nothing goes as it's supposed to.

"I don't care! Get out of my way!" I rage at a soldier.
"Ironhide, what the frag?!" Ratchet yells, "also, what's going on with your weight?"
"I... uh," I didn't think about ho to tell Ratchet, but I think he figured it out.
"You couldn't tell me? The sire of this sparkling?" Ratchet scolds, "how did you even find out?"
"I threatened Jolt to not tell you."
"You did what?!"
I regret not telling Ratchet the day I found out or asking him for a health exam when I suspected something was happening with my health. Worried I just caused a serious issue in our relationship, our sparkling will come and watch their parents argue.
"I'm sorry, I—."
Ratchet kisses me.
"Extreme anger and anxiety; yup, you're sparked," he smiles, "now let me check on our little one."
Ratchet is the happiest I've seen in a long time as we see our little sparkling. We have a while to wait.

I try my best to control my pregnancy anger as Ratchet, and I wait for the day, but it's difficult.
"You call that shooting?!" I scold a soldier.
All the soldiers look at me, horrified, "class dismissed!"
They run out of the shooting range room as fast as they can.
I think I need to request early leave before I ruin our relationship with the soldiers. Though the idea of having nothing to do isn't great either.
It's a challenge to keep occupied and not yell at anyone.

Ratchet is up early today to do several surgeries. I sit on the berth, wishing I could use my holoform, but we don't know if I'd burn through Energon faster or how this would affect the Sparkling. Would my holoform look pregnant? I'd rather not be the test subject. I feel pain as I lie on the berth, but I don't think it's time.

The pain gets worse as time goes by. It's been six hours, and I thought I had a little more time until I remove my panel. Feeling the top of the helm as I do so. I sit on the floor.
:: Ratchet! Our sparking is in a hurry to get here!::
The pain is hard to ignore, but it doesn't matter if I push or not; the sparkling is coming as I now see black that's not my armor.
"Damn it, can't wait for your sire to get here; who's also a medic? Come on, Ratchet! Frag it. I can't wait!"
Even with pushing, the sparking is slowly moving. I don't dare stand up without anybot here to catch the sparkling, but I don't think this is normal.
No matter how much I scream and push, I fear my sparkling is stuck.
:: Ratchet!:: I pant,:: the sparkling is coming, but I think they're stuck!::
Damn it, he must be in surgery to not reply.

I thought things couldn't get worse until Energon and other liquid come out with the next push. Like humans, we have a version of the protective sac of fluid, and it appears the seal of mine just broke. The problem possibly is I might bleed too much Energon. The pain is much worse, and I can't avoid pushing. The sparkling is coming, but I'm also bleeding. I need to hold off pushing, but even if I can, this sparkling is coming.
Ratchet rushes in, terrified.
"I don't know if this is normal, but I need to push," I pant.
"Late breaking of the protective sac," Ratchet observes.
"The sparkling was coming without pushing but then stopped. I thought it was stuck until this mess happened. It's been slowly coming without me pushing, and I didn't know if it was safe."
"We're about to have a sparkling," Ratchet smiles, "time to push."

I continue to bleed with every push. I'm trying not to worry that the problem is there's no time to get to the medbay. That this is life-threatening, and I could die, leaving Ratchet to be a single parent.

Ratchet's P.O.V.
The problem is how the sparkling descended before the protective sac broke. Each push releases more Energon and fluid than if things went as they're supposed to.
I'm amazed that Ironhide's pain tolerance isn't high. I'd think he'd feel no pain.

It's not long before our troublemaker is born.
They have an interesting frame and color scheme. Ironhide takes our sparkling and lies them on his chassis.
Now the problem is Ironhide is still bleeding, and it's harder to deal with when it's a mech carrier. Wish we all had the removable plating by the metra. Even if mechs being sparked was rare before the war started and is still rare. I've dealt with this once before.
"This is going to be odd," I tell Ironhide as I touch his spike.
I'm glad this is rare because this would be embarrassing if this wasn't my husband. This is why it's just guessing. No mech would want this to be a research opportunity with several medics. Just from looking at our biology, it makes sense for the spike to signal the metra to contract and ease the bleeding. It's a few minutes, but I'm glad this worked.
"Can we say we have a troublemaker?" Ironhide jokes.
"I hope we won't be dealing with another Sideswipe. Alright, you're on berthrest for now, and I need to give you an Energon infusion," I explain, "I'll be right back with Energon after I make sure this troublemaker is healthy."

The little one is healthy. Screaming as I gather what I need to bring to our room. Jolt smiles, hearing the screaming sparkling, but worries about Ironhide, seeing the Energon infusion equipment. Even though he knows I'd be yelling at him to come with me to get Ironhide down here.

Ironhide is still awake and waiting to feed our crying sparkling. Before checking over Ironhide and starting the infusion, I hand him the sparkling and cybertronian bottle. He won't need berthrest for long, nor do I think he'll leave the room once I clear him for duty, even with the femmes around. This little one has a big family who'll help care for them.
