Jazz is assigned to be Mikaela's guardian, but both fall for the other. A drunk confession leads to the two finally telling each other how they feel after Mikaela is good about the night before.

The battle in Mission City is over. The Decepticons have been killed. Within a few days, the Autobots have a place to call home. Within this time, Sam has been thinking about whether he and Mikaela should be official. Ultimately deciding he's not ready for a relationship. While Mikaela likes Sam, she's not hurt that he decided they should be friends. She's more surprised, considering how hard San tried to impress her the past week before the two found out his car was an alien robot.
Though all Decepticons are dead, Optimus believes Mikaela and Sam should be under Autobot protection.
"Bumblebee will continue to be Sam's guardian, and —."
"I'll be Mikaela's guardian," Jazz volunteers.
Mikaela is happy with the decision, and Optimus makes it official. Both are aware they know very little about each other, but both are drawn to the other.

Within a few weeks, the two are best friends. Ratchet is trying to great a holographic human as another way for Autobot's to be in disguise. Optimus believes it'll be another way to better interact with their human allies and learn about humans.

Ratchet's holoform project takes a few months. Jazz waits until he's used to the holoform to show Mikaela. This takes a couple of weeks. Once he's used to the holoform, Jazz asks Mikaela to meet him in the hangar.

"What do you want to show me?" Mikaela asks.
Suddenly, a man appears by Jazz's alt mode.
"It's me," the man says, "it's a holoform. Ratchet's invention."
After being told how the holoform functions like a human, Mikaela suggests going to the cafeteria for drinks. Knowing Jazz isn't ready to use his holoform in the city, and she's unsure if Optimus would allow it.

The two find out the lounge room isn't being used. They get a bottle of wine and cups to bring to the lounge room and watch a movie.
Everything was great until the movie concluded.
"How about we continue the fun?" Mikaela smiles.
Jazz can smell the alcohol.
"Mikaela, you're drunk," Jazz argues, "I'm taking you home."
"Oh, come on, you're no fun."
The lieutenant believes getting Mikaela home will be impossible while she's drunk. Since he's in a room with two beds, he takes her to his room. He ends up having to carry her.

Once Jazz opens the door, Mikaela kisses him while shoving him into the room. He closes the door, but Jazz kisses Mikaela rather than pushing her away.
"How about a little fun?" Mikaela smiles and tries to take Jazz's shirt off.
"No, you're drunk," Jazz argues.
"What if I tell you I love you?"
"That's the alcohol talking."
Jazz argues with Mikaela until she gives in to going to bed. The problem is she wouldn't sleep in the other bed. Leaving Jazz now, looking forward to the morning.

Mikaela wakes up seeing Jazz next to her in bed.
"Jazz?" Mikaela asks, alarmed. She then realizes they're both still in clothes from last night, "what happened?"
*You were drunk. I tried to take you home, but drunk, you is so stubborn. We kissed the second we got to my room, but I couldn't frag you while you're drunk," Mikaela couldn't believe what happened, "I hate to add to your embarrassment, but uh... you told me that you love me."
Mikaela is embarrassed, even if it's true. She knows she can't lie, either. That would make it harder to finally tell Jazz how she feels.
"I... it's true," Jazz doesn't know what to say, "wait, you said we kissed?! I know you wouldn't take advantage of anyone."
"Um...b-because I love you. I know that doesn't mean I should have kissed you —."
Mikaela silences Jazz by kissing him.
"I'm dating my guardian," Mikaela smiles.
The two decide to tell Optimus and Lennox later today after enjoying time together. Deciding last night was their first date.
