B | Optimus Prime X Jazz: A Second Chance

Optimus has been regretting not telling Jazz that he loves him sooner. Ratchet is hoping to revive Jazz. Even if he's successful, will Optimus tell Jazz how he feels?

"We couldn't save him."
That sentence haunts Optimus. While he knows war means soldiers killed, Optimus can't believe he lost another love, but this time before he could tell Jazz. 
Optimus didn't think Ratchet would be staring at the two halves of Jazz's body. The sight made him sick.
"Optimus, sir, are you alright?" Ratchet asks, regretting what he's done.
"Why do you have his body?!" Optimus angrily asks.
"I... I'm looking to see if I can put him back together and use the shard of the AllSpark to revive him."
Optimus isn't sure if he wants this but knows it's too soon to get his hopes up, and he has other things to deal with and think about.

Ratchet was hoping to surprise Optimus. Evena though he'd have to tell Optimus his idea to use the shard of the AllSpark to revive Jazz, he was hoping to show that Jazz's body has been repaired.
"I'm not sure if this can be done," Ratchet sighs, "and I hurt Optimus by letting him see this."

It takes Ratchet a month to repair Jazz. He also managed to get the AllSpark shard with the help of Lennox.
"You sure about this?" Lennox asks.
"No, I don't know if this will work, but it'll be a great surprise to Optimus if it does. Assuming Jazz's memory bank didn't completely erase when he was killed. Jazz might be in stasis for a while even if this works."
"I just hope he doesn't end up being a Decepticon who will kill us."
Ratchet assures Lennox that won't happen. The human watches Ratchet work. Within minutes both are waiting for signs of life.
Finally, Ratchet's scan shows that Jazz is alive. He puts in an Energon line and tells Lennox not to tell Optimus yet.
"Jazz could be in stasis for weeks and I don't think Optimus can handle it. I should have been more careful to avoid Optimus finding out what I'm doing."
"Explain why he seems a little distracted."

Jazz is finally out of stasis a week later. Thanks to Lennox, a room is already assigned for Jazz. Everyone is out on a training mission with the goal of building teamwork and trust.
Lennox convinced Optimus to stay behind. Arguing everyone needs to learn to get along without him being around, but Ratchet is the one who asked to get Optimus to stay behind suspecting Jazz will be out of stasis.
Ratchet tells Jazz where Optimus is after a health check.

Optimus sits in a snall hangar, thinking about if Jazz wasn't killed, maybe they'd be together and he'd get some help. 
"Optimus?" Optimus couldn't believe he's looking at Jazz.  Jazz was warned that Optimus would likely think he's hallucinating, "sir, it's me," Optimus' servo shakes as he reaches out to touch Jazz. Feeling a solid bipedal form, "you're not dreaming," Jazz smiles.
Optimus' first thought is to kiss Jazz, who wasn't expecting it, but he doesn't push Optimus away which is what Optimus thought he'd do. This isn't a quick kiss either, which surprises both of them.
"I am sorry I couldn't save you from Megatron," Optimus apologizes.
"You were fighting other cons, sir."
"I lost the mech I love that day. Regretting that I never told you."
Jazz couldn't believe what his leader is saying. All he can do is smile and kiss his leader.
