We're all sat at Spencer's preparing for our SAT's tomorrow. Except Emily isn't here and I'm not actually studying.
"This is insane, how many words do they expect you to learn in one night?" Hannah asks and I laugh beside her. "Too many." I add putting my head on her shoulder.
"Stringent." Aria says our loud.
"Tough. Inflexible." I say for everyone and put a grape in my mouth.
"How did you?" Spencer asks and I shrug. "I already looked over them cards, they're pretty fresh." I say and eat another grape.
"It's not like we're ever gonna use them." Hannah says.
"Meretricious." Aria says.
"I mean it's not like you go to college and then you start speaking a completely different language." Hannah says and I raise an eyebrow. "If you go to college in Europe you might." I suggest.
Spencer scoffs. "It's about getting into college. Meretricious, um phony, flashy?" Spencer continues.
Hannah continues eating her food and I just smile.
"Hannah why are you still eating that?" Aria asks. "Cause it's here." She says and I laugh.
"Put it in the garbage." Spencer says. "Well, then I'd have to stand over the garbage and eat it." Hannah says and I laugh again.
"Besotted." Aria says. "Infatuated, enamoured, in love with." Spencer answers.
"Hey what did Noel Kahn say to you after the memorial?" Hannah asks and Aria glances at me.
"Hello we're taking our SAT's in less than 12 hours, can we focus?" Spencer asks.
"Okay, Spencer. You don't need to know any more big words. You're already scary enough to anyone under 50." Hannah says and I laugh. She's not wrong. "I second that! You need to cool it." I say
"I'm not scary!" Spencer whines turning to Aria. "Am I scary?" She asks Aria. "A little." Aria says and I laugh.
"I saw Noel Kahn hug you and he did not wanna let go." Hannah says and I look at Aria curiously. "Talk about not wanting to let something go." Aria says with an underlying tone.
"Why can't you give him a chance?" Hannah asks. "He's smart, he's cute, his dad owns like half of Rhode Island and he's got great lips." Hannah asks and I watch for Aria's answer.
"His father?" Spencer asks. "No. Ew." Hannah scrunches up her face.
"Seriously, Aria, you and Noel would look amazing together." Hannah says. "Can we just drop it, please." Aria asks.
"Grace doesn't care, do you?" Hannah asks and I shake my head no. "Me and Noel have only ever been friends." I say. Plus it would be hypocritical as I dated her brother for like seven/ eight months behind her back.
"I'm only looking for a friend at the moment." Aria says. "Why? Don't you have enough on Facebook?" Hannah asks and I scoff. "That was a good one." I say and she smiles.
"Besides don't you want someone real, someone you can scratch and sniff?" Hannah asks.
"Wow. Maybe you should just eat that over the garbage." Spencer laughs.
"Look, I am trying to help out a friend here. We don't all have smoking hot ball boys. Or best friends brothers who are twice our age." Hannah says looking from Hannah to me and I choke on my water.
"Jesus Christ. Calm down." Hannah says patting my back. I look around confused.
"What's his name again, you wouldn't tell us?" Hannah asks. "His name is none of your business." I sigh.
