Emily is missing.

Hannah called us around the first thing this morning. Literally. I woke up, got washed and dressed and came here. I haven't had coffee or anything to eat yet.

Spencer is on the phone with someone from the swim team and Aria and I are looking around for a hint on where she could've gone.

"She's not at swim practice." Spencer confirms.

"No, I told you. She's not allowed near the pool." Hannah points out.

"Guys, all her clothes are here. Do you think she did something crazy?" Aria asks.

"Like what?" Spencer asks.

"Run away." I suggest

"Or like jump in her car and burn rubber till she hits Texas." Aria says and I shrug.

"And leave everything behind? She didn't even take her phone." Spencer says.

"I wouldn't take my phone either if I were her. He, she , it had it's hands around her neck and keeps reminding her." Aria points out and I shiver at the thought.

"I mean, she hasn't slept in weeks." Hannah says.

"Who has?" Aria asks.

It's not about us right now but Emily.

However if anyone is wondering, drugs and alcohol are the best cures for insomnia.

"Hannah did you see this?" Spencer asks scrolling through Emily's phone.

Hannah takes the phone and turns it to Aria and I. It reveals a photo of Aria and Mr Fitz making out.

"Is that you?" Hannah asks. Arias eyes widen and she takes Emily's phone.

"Yeah. Of course it's me." She says.

"Well, unless you're Aria's mom, just assume it's Spencer, slutting it up." Spencer says and I laugh. That's so funny.

"When did she get that?" Aria asks as Spencer goes through the phone.

"3 oh 7 am. It came with a text. Clue Ella in and I'll let you out. A." Spencer reads. Well shit.

"Give me that!" Aria takes the phone from Spencer and starts going through it.

"Aria, chill! Emily would never send that to your mother." Hannah reassures.

"No she wouldn't because she can't because we have her phone and she left in the middle of the night. I mean, where the hell is she?" Spencer asks.

"I don't know where she is. But I know who she's been talking too." Hannah says.

That's how we end up in Dr Sullivan's office, telling her everything from the last couple of months about A. Emily wounds up there too.

Fuck me.

After school, once I get home, my mom is instantly dragging me out the door again to go shopping.

Once we're at the mall I follow my mom around the stores.

"What do you think?" My mom asks pinning a dress against her body.

"It's nice." I nod.

"Nice?" She rolls her eyes before putting it back.

"Nice is boring. I want something...amazing." She smiles at me.

"What's the occasion?" I ask and she squints her eyes at me.

"You better be joking." She tells me.

I rack my brain. Her birthday? No. Dad's birthday? No. My birthday? No. Business? No.
