0403- Cat's Cradle

We've been spending far too much time at the brew recently.

"My mom is not connected to a cockatoo." Hannah tells Emily.

"A parrot." Emily clarifies.

"Whatever." Hannah says.

We're currently diving through a box of Ali's things and bird stuff.

"Well, that bird is connected to Ali, Ali is connected to Wilden, and Wilden's connected to your mom and us and stuff we don't even know anything about." Aria tells Hannah.

"My mom may have hit him a little with her car, but she did not kill Wilden." Hannah says.

"Of course not." Spencer looks to Hannah.

"We know she wouldn't do that." I tell Hannah.

"Hey, how's your shoulder?" Aria asks and I look up at Emily to see her rolling her shoulder.

"I'm seeing the doctor again tomorrow." Emily tells her.

"Why would you take all this stuff?" Hannah asks Emily.

I'm playing with a bird toy, I'm not really too useful in these situations.

"I took the bird stuff and the rest of the junk to get past Mrs DiLaurentis with Ali's notebooks." Emily tells Hannah.

"We learned so much from what Ali wrote down in Em's bio book. Who knows what could be written in these?" Spencer says whilst both her and Emily look through a notebook.

The other three of us aren't being much help.

"Aww." Hannah cooed.

I turn to her and see her looking behind us.

We all look to Aria's mom and new boyfriend.

"Eat, bake, love." Hannah says.

"They look cosy." Spencer points out.

"Yeah they do." Aria says whilst watching her mom and her mom's new boyfriend.

"How's Jake?" Emily asks, gaining Aria's attention.

"He's nice." Aria says.

Ah.

Nice.

"No seriously, he's nice. We're seeing each other tonight." She tells us.

"Great." Spencer says in this weird voice.

"Well, you don't have to say it like that." Aria tells her.

"I didn't say it like anything." Spencer says.

A minute passes us in silence and Aria turns back to watch her mom.

"Is it weird to be jealous of your mom's love life?" Aria asks.

"Maybe a bit." I shrug and shove my hand back in the box to take out a new bird toy.

"Hey Em, can you ditch this some place? I don't want Mona to see it and start asking us questions." Spencer asks.

"Yeah, I'll take it home." Emily says.

"Where is Mona?" Aria asks.

"I don't know. She wasn't at school." Spencer says.

"Not knowing where she is makes me just as nervous as when she's all over us." Emily says.

Hannah pulls a mask out of the box.

"You guys, what's this?" Hannah asks.

"That ain't no cuttle-bone." Spencer says as Aria takes the mask from Hannah.
