0224- If These Dolls Could Talk

"Grace." My mom wakes me up for school.

"Hey." I yawn checking on her. I've got a terrible hangover.

"You okay?" She asks and I nod.

Today is my first day back to school in a while, I'm scared.

"Are you inviting Logan over tonight?" My mom asks.

"He's got a Lacrosse game out of state." I lie and she nods.

I shower and get dressed before doing my makeup and hair.

Once I'm ready, I head downstairs and have coffee and breakfast with my mom.

"Where's dad?" I ask sipping my coffee from the brew. My dad has already been on a coffee run, I have no idea where he is or what he's doing.

"I have no clue. He's keeping himself busy before he takes me to my doctors appointment. He's just scared." She tells me.

"Do you want me to come with?" I ask her.

"No, I want you to go to school. I want you to have fun with your friends and Logan and I want you to have fun. That's all I want." She smiles and squeezes my hand.

She's asking for a bit much.

"Okay, well I should head out." I say not bothering to move.

I'm praying for dad to walk through the door and tell me I can have another day off. Seeing as mom clearly isn't budging.

"How's your mom?" Emily asks and I shrug. Truthfully I don't know how she is. She seems fine and happy but now I know she's a big liar so I don't know how she is.

"She's okay, given the circumstances." I give her a small smile.

Let's change the subject, please. I'm so uncomfortable.

"I can't believe it's cancer. That's so sad. Did she like flowers we brought round?" Aria asks.

Her family came round yesterday, including Logan, to check in with her and bring her flowers. I didn't say a word to them once I saw Logan was here I just hid in my bedroom.

"She did, thank you." I smile.

"Well we're brining those lemon cupcakes she likes. We made them last night, Emily found the recipe. Is it okay to come round after school?" Hannah asks.

No. I want peace.

"Yeah sure, you're all welcome. My mom loves having you all around. She misses it." I don't.

"Then we'll be there." Emily smiles.

"Guys, I figured it out." Spencer rushes over to the table with newspapers.

"Allison took out a classified ad asking A to meet her in Brookhaven and A responded. This was going on for like a month." She tells us.

Oh for god sake, I can't do this.

"Dear A, what's it gonna take to end this? You need to stop. A.D."She hands that newspaper to Aria.

"Hey, desperately seeking silence, who says I wanna end this? A." Spencer reads, handing it to Aria.

"What's this one?" Emily asks grabbing a newspaper.

"It's the last paper before labor day weekend. Allison was set to meet A at 235 Spruce Street." Spencer tells us.

God this whole thing has gone out of the window. Since A blew up my life I haven't really thought about them, just the mess they made.

"Why do I know that street?" Aria asks.
