0515-Fresh Meat

"Hey birthday boy." I answer Logan's call.

"Good morning Gracie, are you just waking up?" He asks.

"No. I just haven't had coffee yet." I say putting his call on speaker so I can finish getting ready.

"Hmm... I miss having breakfast with you." Logan says softly.

"Me too, I love ditching first period to make out with you in my car." I joke, we really don't make out in public.

He lets out a loud, deep laugh. It brings a smile to my face. I miss him.

It's Friday morning right now and I plan to be superglued to his side all weekend. The second I leave school, I'm going to his to set up with decorations.

He doesn't want anything bug, just a small celebration with his family after a long week at work.

I'm excited to see him, I haven't seen him since Tuesday night. He came over late in the night because I was feeling sad and he stayed with me the whole night but left before I woke up for school.

"Hey so I made you a coffee and breakfast, it's downstairs. I tried to make you an iced one but I really don't know if it went well." He admits.

My insides are so warm.

My dad gave him a spare key recently, says he needs one. I don't understand why he needs one but if he keeps up with this, you won't be hearing any complaints from me.

"Thank you." I smile even though he can't see it.

I finish getting ready whilst talking to Logan on the phone whilst he was on his drive to work. When he gets to work he stays on the phone to me whilst I eat my breakfast and until he gets to the office.

"I've got to go Gracie, your dad is like staring at me." Logan tells me.

"Oh is he in the office, I literally thought he was still in bed." I laugh.

"I'll see you tonight, yeah?" He asks.

"Absolutely you will." I reassure.

"Good, I love you." He says down the phone.

"I love you too and happy birthday." I say before ending the call.

I grab all my stuff and make a beeline for the door, I'm so late for school.

At lunch, Toby comes in to talk to us about Ali.

"This is unbelievable." Hannah shakes her hands around. "I mean, Ali's in the penalty box and she's still playing offence."

"Such a joke." I run a hand through my hair.

"Maybe this is just her being iced out and getting desperate." Toby suggests. "But if you actually think there's somebody on the outside helping her-"

"Yeah totally. I mean there was a fireworks display." Hannah jumps in.

"Maybe she planned that before she got arrested." Emily offers.

"No way, someone is helping her." Spencer tells her.
