0310- What Lies Beneath

"Emily, I'm so sorry for everything. I know we've had a disconnect lately. I hope you'll give me
a chance to explain. I have to show you something. Don't call my cell. Someone stole it. Meet me at..." Hannah reads off of the paper.

"Meet me? Where?" Aria asks.

Hannah squints as she tries to make out what the piece of paper says.

"I don't know. I can't tell. It looks like it's been
washed out by the rain." Hannah tells us.

Fuck.

"Are you sure that this is from Maya?" Spencer asks Emily.

"Positive." She tells us.

"I wonder what she wanted to show you." Spencer says.

"The police have said all along that she probably found something that proved Garrett killed Ali." Aria says.

"Which is why she was killed." Hannah nods.

"Okay but like what?" I ask glancing over at Spencer, she always has an answer.

"You guys, we need to slow down, because we have no idea when Maya wrote that note, and it could have been any time after Emily moved in here with you." Spencer tells us as Hannah passed Aria the note.

I peer over her shoulder and try to get a better look at the note.

"It looks like there's a date on the top right corner. Look." Aria points at it for me.

"Oh shit yeah." I nod.

Aria passes the note to Emily and Spencer.

"Oh, my God." They both look up with the worst expression on their face.

"Maya wrote this the day she died." Holy shit.

"Yeah well I'm sick of you all not telling me stuff. If you told me about that stamp, I would've known immediately where it was from." I sigh to Aria.

We're in school and it's lunch time now.

"You're never really with us." Aria points out.

"I am!" I argue. I definitely hang out with the girls more than she does.

"We made a mistake, I made a mistake by not showing you. I didn't want to add to your stress." She admits, closing her locker to fully look at me.

"I can handle it, I've handled worse." I fight back an eye roll.

"I know and I'm sorry." She apologises.

"Lunch on me?" She asks as we make our way to the cafeteria.

"Definitely." I nod.

"You and Ezra will be fine." I reassure her, they're having problems again.

"Hey." Spencer grabs my wrist.

"Hi?" I say closing my locker.

"You get to Hannah's and go to the Kahn's cabin with her and Emily. You know your way around that cabin, better than any of us, they'll explain when you get there." She tells me.

"Sure." I smile. Finally involved.

I head to my locker and change out some textbooks I might need to do my homework before heading out to my car.

I text Logan to tell him I'm going shopping with Hannah and Emily and that I'll stop by later tonight once I'm done before heading to Hannah's.

Once I get to Hannah's she leads me inside and upstairs to her bedroom.

I look through the groups of photos on her bed and the floor from Maya's website.

"Look at this." Hannah tells me.
