0320- Hot Water

"Are you excited for your first day back?" Dad asks handing me some burnt toast.

He's trying too hard, something's going on.

"What's going on?" I ask him.

"Nothing, your mom just wanted to make sure you got off to a good start." He tells me.

I nod slowly but take a bite out of the toast to make him feel better.

"I'm going to go see her later." I tell him.

"Okay pip, I've got a meeting about this software thing so I'll leave some money for you to grab food. You can invite Logan or the girls over to keep you company till I get back." He offers.

I thanks him before grabbing my bag and keys and leaving for school.

"You told your mom?" Emily asks Hannah.

The three of us are walking around school whilst Hannah tells us about her morning. She was with her mom when she saw Wilden put Cece in his car. She then proceeded to tell her mom about Wilden and Ali.

"Don't worry about it, we're fine, I covered for us." Hannah tells us.

"What were you thinking? You can't tell her something like that!" Emily tells Hannah.

"Not your smartest move." I tell Hannah.

"I was distracted by Cece and Wilden, okay?" Hannah shakes her head.

"It doesn't make sense. I thought she was protecting him." Emily says.

"Well, what if we were wrong, and I just set Ali's baby daddy/killer on her trail?" Hannah asks.

We stop and turn to her.

"Why would she lie about knowing him?" Emily asks. "We have to find out the truth and confront her." Emily sits down at a table and Hannah and I follow suit.

"Where? Wildens trunk?" Hannah asks and I let out a scoff.

"Seems likely." I add.

"He wouldn't grab her in broad daylight if he was going to hurt her. Probably." Emily tells us.

"Have you heard from Jason?" Hannah asks after a minute of silence.

"I can't believe he just left like that." I say to them.

"He texted. He's lying low at a friend's place in Virgina for a while. I kind of wish he room me with him." Emily admits.

"Did you tell Paige that she almost got two Emily's for the price of one?" Hannah asks her.

"Are you kidding?" Emily asks. "She's worried enough about me as it is."

"Do you think Paige and Caleb told us everything? I mean with them digging into Mona, do you think they found out something we could use?"  Hannah asks.

"A almost killed me. I am not exposing Paige to that." Emily shakes her head.

"No of course not. But would it hurt to find out if she picked up anything useful?" Hannah asks.

"She's got a point." I nod at Emily.

"Yeah, I guess we could go and talk to her after school." Emily suggests.

"How is Caleb anyway?" Emily asks. "Everything go okay with the reunion?"

"I can't believe his father was his uncle this whole time." I add.

"I know." Hannah nods at me before turning to Emily. "Yeah, mostly." She says.

"Mostly?" I ask.

"What part isn't?" Emily asks.
