0322- Will the Circle Be Unbroken?

The four of us, me, Emily, Hannah and Aria are stood in the courtyard looking for Spencer. We still haven't heard from her.

"I was hoping she'd be here but she isn't." Emily says nervously.

"Do you think Spencer just didn't get your SOS?" Aria asks her.

"Maybe but she must have gotten one of the other 12 messages we sent." Emily tells her.

"Okay you guys, she has ditched school before. All right? It's not a big deal." Hannah tells us. That is true, in fact we all ditch quite often. It's not uncommon for one of us not to show up.

"Yeah you're right I guess." Aria nods.

"Okay we just need to get through today. If she doesn't call or show up, we'll go to her house after school." Emily says.

"Good plan." I nod.

The bell rings and we start to head to our class but before we can leave the court yard principle Hackett and Melissa come up to us.

"Girls, good, you're all together." He looks between the four of us. "I think you know Spencer's sister, Melissa." He introduces us to her.

"Have you seen Spencer? Have you talked to her?" She asks us.

Suddenly alarm bells go off in my head. If we haven't heard from her and neither has Melissa that can't be good.

"Not today." Emily says.

"Is something wrong?" Aria asks.

"Spencer didn't come home last night. She's not answering her phone. I was hoping she was here with you." She look between the four of us. "Which is why I came here before I went to the police."

Oh fuck.

This isn't good.

"Police?" Hannah asks.

"I understand Spencer's been a little distracted lately. Was there something on her mind that she shared with you? Anything about her plans?" Principal Hackett asks.

"No, Mr Hackett, she hasn't said anything to us." Emily tells them.

"You're her friends. She must have said something." Melissa looks between the four of us again waiting for one of us to cough up Spencer's whereabouts but the truth is we don't know where she is either.

"You can uh call the police from my office." Mr Hackett tells Melissa.

"Thank you." Melissa says.

"Let me know if you hear from Spencer." He looks between the four of us again before going off.

"Well that can't be good." I tell them as we head to our separate lessons.

"Melissa must have the police looking for Spencer by now." Emily says as school finishes for the day.

"I do not need more police in my life." Hannah says.

"Yeah, none of us do." Aria speaks up.

"Okay the only thing that counts right now is finding her. Now are you sure that Spencer didn't say anything about what she was going to do?" Aria asks.
