0216- Let the Water Hold Me Down

The five of us are at Spencer's now. I'm sat with Hannah who's bundled in blankets in front of the fire and has her head on my shoulder.

"Here's some aspirin." Aria kneels down in front of us and hands Hannah some aspirin. "Do you want me to make you some soup?" She asks.

"Thanks but I'm not hungry." Nearly getting drowned will do that to you.

"Another blanket?" Spencer asks coming behind us and placing a blanket on Hannah's shoulder's.

"Here's your bag. I think Caleb called, your phone was making noise." Emily says sitting on the other side of Hannah.

I don't have anything to offer Hannah in this moment so I just stay and hold her hand, reassuring her that I'm here. It may not be as good as some aspirin or the warmth of an extra blanket but it's something, right?

"Han I know you aren't ready to talk about this but the sheriff said they're going to drag the lake first think in the morning." Spencer says.

God talk about the ability to bite your tongue.

"Lucas isn't in the lake." Hannah says, I give her hand a squeeze.

"He didn't come up to shore, we waited." Emily says.

"He knows how to swim, alright? He's out there somewhere." She says. We waited. Where else is there for him to go?

"I can feel it." She adds.

"I still can't believe that Lucas would help A." Aria says.

"Why not? Jenna did the same thing with Caleb." Spencer starts. God she knows what to say in these situations doesn't she. Talk about kick a girl whilst she's down.

"A knows Lucas is close to Hannah." Emily says.

"No I get it. I just don't see Lucas as being that violent." Aria says.

"Anyone can be violent if you push them hard enough." I say.

"He can be." She says.

"Lucas was the one who destroyed Allison's memorial." Well shit. Didn't see that one coming. "I found out the night I got out of the hospital."

"Why didn't you tell us?" Spencer asks.

I'm sure Hannah has her reasons, plus if the girls found out half the stuff I kept from them they'd be stunned.

"I told him I'd keep it a secret." Hannah says.

"Why?" Emily asks.

"To protect him. He's been through a lot. Allison really tortured him." Hannah says.

"Maybe it's time to start protecting you." Spencer chimes. That's a good idea.

"I have a headache." Hannah announces before knocking back some aspirin and going to swallow it down with her water.

Before she can Emily shouts at her not to.

"Too late." Her faces scrunches as she pulls back to examine the water.

Ew that's gross.

"How did that get in there?" Aria asks. God talk about captain obvious.

"The bag was outside in the car." Emily says.

"Yeah we were all in here." Aria says.

"Yeah Lucas wasn't, maybe he just wants to finish what he started." Spencer accuses.

I rub Hannah's back and do the one thing I'm good at, keeping quiet during these things.

Hannah's phone chimes and I look at her.
