Dani's: POV

-Flashback-

December 18th 1981: New York

Today we'd visit my grandmother Bernadette. Dad was nervous about the visit. He rang the doorbell and waited. A woman opened the door.

"Elliot, you came." she said and hugged her son. "Hi mom." replied dad. "Who's this cutie?" asked Bernadette. "This is my daughter Danielle, your granddaughter." he said.

"Hello grandma." I replied. "Hello Dani." said Bernadette and picked me up. She took me to the living room and I saw a beautiful Christmas tree. Grandma gave me a present. "You can open it now." she said. "Thank you grandma." I replied. I got a beautiful doll.

Mommy and daddy came into the living room. He helped her sit down on the couch. She was eight-months-pregnant. I went up to mom and showed her my doll.

"So cute." said Olivia. "You are pregnant." replied Bernadette. "Yes, you'll get a grandson." said mom. "But you're so young." replied grandma. "She's the best mom." I said with a smile on my face. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to offend you." replied Bernadette. "It's okay." said mom.

Mom went to bed early. Dad was reading a book for me. I was worried about mom.

"Doesn't mom like grandma?" I asked. Dad was silent. "Mom is sick and sometimes she say things without thinking." he said. "Aww." I replied. "But she loves you and she can't wait to meet your little brother." said Elliot. "I love her too." I replied.
