Something Different

Pt.48

Ace walks back into the kitchen and Emily holds Bryce. They both soon fall back asleep.

When they wake up Thomas is filming them and Jacob just is standing over them with an animal mask on. Emily screams and kicks Jacob.

Emily: You mother fucker!
Jacob: I had to.
Thomas: It was pretty funny.

Thomas puts down the camera and Emily rolls over but soon set up fast because it's the shoulder the bullet grazed. She wines in pain and rolls up her sleeve.

Thomas: You okay?
Emily: I'm fine.
Bryce: Your bandage is still pretty clean.

Emily gets up and walks to the kitchen. She finds Paige in their making her breakfast.

Paige: I heard you and Jackson aren't talking anymore.
Emily: Yeah for now.
Paige: Want me to talk to him?
Emily: That's all up to you.

Emily walks up to her room and the camera is gone. She lays on her bed and looks up at the ceiling. Kristian walks into Emily's room.

Kristian: Em.
Emily: Yeah?
Kristian: Paige is talking to Jackson. What happened?
Emily: I broke things off for now.
Kristian: Why?
Emily: I just need time to myself. I don't want to worry about someone.
Kristian: You do that anyway.

Kristian walks out of Emily's room and she gets up and gets dressed. She gets her shoes on and grabs her keys. She walks downstairs and Thomas is standing by the door.

Thomas: Where are you going?
Emily: I don't know yet.

Ace walks through the door.

Thomas: I don't want you to go alone.
Emily: i'll be fine.
Ace: I'll go with you. Let me get changed.
Emily: Fine.
Thomas: Thank you.
Ace: Welcome.

Ace runs upstairs and a couple of minutes later Kristian and Ace walk downstairs with Paige.

Emily: Paige gets the passenger seat.
Paige: Told you mother fuckers!
Kristian: Shut up Paige!
Emily: Shut up Kristian!

They all get in Emily's car and start driving.

Ace: Where are we going?
Emily: No clue.
Paige: Target?
Kristian: Yes!

Emily drives to Target and they go inside.

Paige: So I talked to Jackson.
Emily: Okay?
Paige: He's thinking of moving out...
Ace: Wait what?
Kristian: No he can't.
Emily:...

Emily stays quiet and lets everyone pick out what they need. They finally get back out to the car and they start driving around some more. Ace is sitting in front this time.

Paige: Stop Kristian

Kristian continues to make dinosaur noises in Paige's ear.

Ace: How does that one girl even like you?
Kristian: I don't know.
Emily: Oo does someone have a girlfriend?
Kristian: Were talking.
Emily: Okay.
Ace: Your gas light just came on.

Emily sighs and drives to a gas station. They all get out and Ace stays by the gas pump with Emily while the others go inside.

Ace: Em talk to me.
Emily: Maybe I should move out.
Ace: Don't.
Emily: Everyone cares about Jackson. Maybe I should just leave.
Ace: Stop. You don't need to leave. No one is leaving. Thomas won't let Jackeon leave.
Emily: I'm getting a drink.
Ace: Kristian and everyone else is gonna say the same thing.

Ace takes over pumping the gas and Emily walks inside and gets a drink. She is met by Officer Phillip.

Phillip: Emily.
Emily: Phillip.
Phillip: I was called out to your kidnapping last night.
Emily: You were?
Phillip: Yep. Jaden called me. I've been assigned your case with Mr. Plourde.
Emily: So you're following me?
Phillip: Might as well.
Emily: You aren't even that much older than me.
Phillip: I'm 25 Emily.
Emily: I'm almost 21
Phillip: I know.

Phillip walks Emily to the counter and pays for her drink before she can pay. They walk outside to his squad car.

Phillip: I have night watch on you.
Emily: Spying now?
Phillip: I call it doing my job
Emily: Taylor would very surprised that you are watching me.
Phillip: We were friends in high school that's it then I left.
Emily: Well I'm glad its you taking on the night shift.

Emily hugs Phillip and she walks over to her car. Everyone is standing by the car.

Paige: Who was that?
Emily: Phillip. He was a senior when I was freshman. He kept Taylor out of trouble. Let's get going.

They all get in the car and start driving. They get food and start heading back to the house. When they get to the house they all go to the kitchen but Emily sees Jackson and goes to the theatre room instead. She sits down and puts on a show and eats. Soon after she gets to the room someone comes in and sits next to her.

Bryce: Jackson is thinking of moving out.
Emily:...
Bryce: I'm sorry.
Emily: He isn't moving out if i do it first.
Bryce: Em. No. Nobody is leaving.

Emily stands up and throws her trash away and walks upstairs to her room. She grabs a suitcase and goes to her closet. Bryce is following her. Emily slams her door closed before Bryce can walk into her room.

Bryce: EMILY! COME ON.
Emily: GO AWAY!

Emily starts packing her suitcase and she gets everything she needs and grabs a duffel bag for her essentials and necessities and what she wears under her clothes. She puts a couple of different pairs of shoes in her bag as well and opens her door. She walks passed Bryce and walks downstairs.

Bryce: EMILY STOP!

Everyone comes out of the kitchen and living room at the sound of the yelling.

Thomas: Em where are you going?
Emily: I don't know yet. If it keeps Jackson in the house and by everyone then I'm gonna leave.
Bryce: Someone stop her, please!
Thomas: Please stay.
Emily: I'll be back eventually.

Emily walks out the door and puts her stuff in her car. She gets in the car as Bryce walks over to her and she rolls her window down. He has tears in his eyes.

Bryce: Please. I need you here.
Emily: Bryce...
Bryce: No I need you. Please don't go.

Emily leans forward and kisses Bryce's cheek and she chokes back a sob. Bryce steps away from the car and Emily drives off. Once she's away from the house she breaks down crying. She drives to the only place she will have her own space. It was Jaden's.

Emily pulls up to Jaden's place and knocks on the door. He opens the door and hugs Emily. Emily tells him what's going on and he takes her things to the spare room. They hang out and watch movies for the rest of the day.

Jaden: I got board games!
Emily: Rematch?
Jaden: Oh most definitely!

They eat up the game on the coffee table and sit on the floor. They play for a couple of hours and catch up before everything that happened last night.

Jaden: I'm glad I gave you that necklace.
Emily: Yeah. It's a butterfly.
Jaden: Yeah.

They continue to play board games until dinner and they both cook and eat.

Emily: I haven't done this in a while.
Jaden: Neither have I.

They start cleaning up and someone knocks on the door.

Jaden: I don't have anybody that comes over.
Emily: I can only imagine.
Jaden: Spare bedroom.

Emily quickly runs to the spare bedroom as Jaden walks to the door as they knock again. Jaden opens the door and its the last person he expected.
