Something Different

Pt.37

The boys all gulp and Kristian takes the keys from Emily and they all walk back to the car. They leave the passenger seat open for Emily.

Emily: You don't have to scare them.
Nick: Think I have to.

Emily walks over to Nick's car and hugs Ryland.

Emily: It isn't your fault. Stop blaming yourself. I'm not mad. I'm not hurt.
Ryland: I know but I should've never told her anything.
Nick: And life with the guilt?
Ryland: Better than this outcome.
Emily: I don't think she will be coming around anymore.
Nick: Safe to say that.
Emily: Now you go and get cleaned up.
Ryland: Just one more one?
Nick: No
Emily: A kiss on the cheek from me is all your getting.

Emily kisses Ryland on the cheek and hugs him. Emily then hugs Nick.

Nick: Thank you!
Emily: You're welcome.
Nick: Whoever made you cry those tears better not be one of those boys that's in that truck right now.
Emily: And if I say yes?
Nick: Don't tell me which one.
Emily: Didn't plan on it.
Nick: I better get him home.
Emily: Okay.
Nick: I'll call you as soon as those kits are in.
Emily: Okay.
Nick: You're about to start crying again. Please don't cry.
Emily: Has Taylor called you?
Nick: No. Has something happened with Wendy?
Emily: She confessed to everything. I don't know who she had working for her but she was behind it all.
Nick: Christian?
Emily: Yeah...

Nick pulls Emily into another hug and she started crying.

Nick: Who would have that done to their daughter?
Emily: Someone who is their real daughter
Nick: You don't need them. You have me. I'm not going anywhere.
Emily: I know.

Nick hugs Emily tighter and they stand like that for a couple of minutes until Ace walks over.

Nick: Get her home, please.
Ace: I will. Come on Em.
Emily: Okay.

Ace takes Emily and gets her in the passenger seat. He gets in the car and Nick stands by his door until they pull out of the parking lot and he drives off.

Jacob: Em you good?
Emily: I'll be fine.

Kristian holds out his hand for Emily and she takes it. They start driving back to Hype house. Once they get there Emily stays outside for a minute and Bryce stays back from everyone else.

Bryce: Em.
Emily: I'm fine.
Bryce: Come here.

Emily hugs Bryce and he holds her.

Bryce: Sleep in my room tonight.
Emily: You sure?
Bryce: I wouldn't say it if I wasn't sure silly.
Emily: Okay.

They walk inside.

Emily: I'll meet you up there. I'm gonna get a glass of water.
Bryce: Take your time.

Bryce walks upstairs and Emily walks into the kitchen. Jackson is sitting at the table and Emily walks over to the cabinet and grabs a glass. Jackson walks over to Emily as she is feeling her glass.

Jackson: I'm sorry.
Emily: I know.
Jackson: I should've never said what I said. Or acted that way I acted.
Emily: Yeah that too.
Jackson: Can you forgive me?
Emily: I was never mad at you Jacks.
Jackson: You were upset.
Emily: Yeah.

Jackson opens his arms and Emily hugs him. She then drinks her water and goes to walk out of the kitchen when Jackson stops her.

Emily: What?
Jackson: What happened with you and Bryce?
Emily: we broke up.
Jackson: I'm sorry.
Emily: It's okay. We are still friends. It was mostly mutual.
Jackson: I feel stupid.
Emily: I know.

Emily walks upstairs and changes into Pjs before going to Bryce's room.

The next morning Emily walks up before everyone and makes coffee. Once she has her coffee made she walks to the front door and sits on the porch. She gets out her phone and calls someone.
