Something Different

Pt.77

Emily hesitantly gets out of the car and disappears inside the building. She walks to an elevator and walks into it. She goes up to her designated floor and walks to the room. She knocks on the door and a couple of minutes later she answers.

Nessa: Emily? What are you doing  here?
Emily: I wanted to see how you were doing.
Nessa: I'm doing okay. Why the sudden pop-in?
Emily: I almost died in Nashville. Wanted to make amends.

Nessa's face turned to surprise.

Nessa: I'm sorry.
Emily: It's fine.

Nessa stands there and looks down.

Nessa: Did you have the kid?...
Emily: No...
Nessa: Well I have some friends over. I should get back in.
Emily: That's it. Our friendship is over?
Nessa: You got with my boyfriend.
Emily: We didn't do anything.
Nessa: The cuddling, the dreams, the urges? The almost kisses. That Wasn't cheating?
Emily: You know what I'm sorry for bothering you. I wanted to make things right but you don't want to. I guess I should've fallen off the face of the Earth.

Emily walks off and goes to the Elevator. Once she's in the elevator she starts crying. She walks out of the building and back to her car. Once she gets in she puts her head on her steering wheel and soon feels someone rubbing her back to realize it's Kayden.

Kayden: I'm guessing it didn't go well?
Emily: No! I could see the look on her face when I told her I didn't have the baby.

Emily continues to cry and Kayden pulls Emily to him. He holds her while she cries.

After a while, Kayden gets Emily to calm down and she gets back in the driver's seat. Emily starts the car and starts driving. She gets on the high and continues to drive.

Kayden: Em where are we going?
Emily: We are going on a little trip.
Kayden: Emily.
Emily: Don't Emily me right now.

They continue to drive for about an hour before Emily decides to get food. They order and eat. Emily gets gas and while she is in the bathroom Kayden follows her.

Emily: You can't be in here.
Kayden: I needed to make sure you were okay.
Emily: I am.
Kayden: And I think we have some unfinished business.

Kayden smirks and pulls Emily close to him.

Emily: You get nothing without a condom.
Kayden: What if I told you I didn't have one?
Emily: Welp too bad.

Emily looks up at Kayden and leaves the bathroom. They both walk back out to the car and start driving again.

Kayden: You did not just do that to me!
Emily: I did.
Kayden: You and Rocky can have unprotected sex but we can't?
Emily: I didn't know. But when we found out about it I got scared for nothing.
Kayden: What do you mean?
Emily: I can't have kids.
Kayden: WHAT!
Emily: As far as I know I can't.

At that moment a police officer flashes his lights behind Emily's car and she starts to pull over. Once she's pulled over the cool comes over and Emily rolls down her window.

Emily: Phillip!
Phillip: Do you know why I pulled you over Ms. Holder?
Emily: No?
Phillip: I need you to come down to the station Emily.
Kayden: Is she in trouble sir?
Phillip: No.
Emily: Phillip?
Phillip: It's about your mom.
Emily: She isn't my mom and you know that.
Phillip: I'm sorry but I think you should come down to the station.
Emily: Phillip we aren't anywhere near the station.
Phillip: Just follow me.

Phillip walks away and gets in his car. He then pulls in front of Emily and starts driving. Emily then follows him.

After about an hour of following him, they are back over by Emily's apartments and about to pull in.
