A few weeks after telling the Cullen's, I'm in my class at the dojo, and we're working with bo staffs today. This was always Tim's favorite weapon, and the only way he could come close to beating me. Today, I'm sparring with Alan, and we are focusing a little too much on our own match, and not our surroundings.

"Watch out!" I hear one of the other students yell out as I'm mid-way through a block.

On reflex, I jump back from where I sense something coming at me from the side, and land hard on my ankle. It's a good thing I jumped, because one of the other student's staff swung hard right where my face had just been. Unluckily for Alan, the staff keeps swinging and gets a solid, nasty hit on his arm. I take a look at it, and it's got a severe bruise on it already, and may have even damaged his bone.

"I am so sorry! I just lost control, are you ok?" The student who swung the staff panics, stumbling over to us as he recovered from his own fall. We both nod to him, but I look seriously at Alan.

"That's serious, Alan, I think I should take you to the emergency room, just to be safe. Come on." As I stand to lead him to the door, I feel a dull ache forming in my ankle, and it gets worse with each step I take.

"Are you limping?" Alan asks me in concern while wincing and holding his arm in pain.

"Yeah, think I landed too hard when avoiding that just now. Let's both get checked out." I admit to him. I don't want to let an injury sit too long, it's better to get it checked and make sure it's not serious, especially since we're both on adrenaline right now from our own sparring match.

"Let's take my car then, no bike while you're injured." He starts to lead us to his SUV.

"I'm not that injured! I'm fine enough to ride!" I whine. I hate leaving my bike. I've ridden on worse injuries in that past. The far, distant past, but still.

"Don't be stubborn today, just come on, I'll take you back later once you're cleared." He urges me, pain still in his eyes from his hit and I can see it swelling more.

"Fine. You better." I pout and relent, and we head off to the ER.

We don't have to wait for long, and we're both getting checked out by the nurses when Carlisle comes in.

"I heard there was a fight, everyone feeling ok?" Carlisle asks with concern. Alan and I both snort out in laughter.

"We were at the dojo Car -Dr. Cullen." I say dismissively. "One of the students lost control with a bo staff. If we had an actual fight, this guy here would be needing a full body cast, not an ice pack." I jokingly say.

"Hey! I've gotten better!" Alan pouts back with a grin.

"Fine, half body cast. And a respirator." I throw back at him with a smirk.

"Well, let's take a look at your injuries from the accidental injury then." Carlisle says in a lighter tone.

He checks out Alan first and clears him for bone breaks, but tells him to rest his arm a few days as he wraps it up. Then he checks my ankle, does a few rotations with it. At this point now that I've been here a little while and resting, I've already figured out it's just a sprain, but wanted to be sure after the adrenaline from class wore off fully.

"Good news, just a sprain." Carlisle confirms gently. "I'll get this wrapped up and you'll be back to normal in a few days. I feel I should apologize, I may have called someone when I heard your name and fight used together." He says the last part in a whisper to me.

"And he hasn't bulldozed down the whole hospital yet? I'm shocked." I say with a deadpan.

Carlisle stiffens briefly while wrapping up my ankle. "He's coming." He warns me.
