"Fridr, the room looks great, you should be proud." Ivar compliments proudly, casually walking into Bella's room that I have just finished setting up.

It took some time and effort, but now Bella's room has been repainted a light lilac color, a reading nook has been built by the window, and a new full-size bed has replaced her old children's twin bed. I picked her up a blue comforter with an elegant, vintage pattern on it. I also decided to add a lace canopy that falls over the bed. Since she loves all those classic romantic books, I wanted to play to that era. Charlie built her a bookshelf, and I started to stock a few books, knowing she would fill in the rest of the space. A few new paintings of prairies and cityscapes were added to her walls, including a painting of a lighthouse on a cliff that was done by Esme, who happily wanted to add something to her room.

"It took some effort, but it's all set up now." I say with pride, looking around the room too. "Charlie's on his way to pick her up now, and I know he'll want to take us out to dinner tonight. He's been talking everyone's ear off at the diner for weeks about her coming home, Cora and the rest are ready to see her again." I tell him as he pulls me into a hug.

"Hmm, so how long until they get here then?" He asks innocently, rocking our bodies casually from side to side.

"A couple of hours, he had to go to Seattle to pick her up." I say, turning to face him with a coy smirk. "Why? Have something in mind?"

"I see an empty house and several hours of alone time. I have many somethings in mind." He growls out seductively, rubbing circles against my hips as his forehead rests against my own, a smirk on his lips.

"I will not have you break my bed frame. Just because you're fine with constantly replacing yours, doesn't mean the same for me." I tell him with an attitude, poking his chest.

"I don't have to break the frame. I can just hold some of Shinobi's chewing bones." He says smugly, and said dog perks up at the sound of his name from the floor where he has been laying and watching us.

I gasp dramatically. "That is a criminal offence, sir! You can't steal from an innocent little puppy bear." I say with mock offense.

"I will buy him more. Now get upstairs." He growls out, playfully pushing me towards the ladder to my attic bedroom. I giggle and move up the steps with him following me quickly.

A couple hours of hot and steamy fun later, Ivar is indeed holding crushed pieces of bones. He wipes his hands over the waste bin to get the bone dust off before unwrapping himself and laying back down in the bed. I curl my legs around him, enjoying the up and down movement of his chest while he takes unnecessary breaths.

"There is an incredibly awful, loud engine pulling down the road and heading here." Ivar says with a look of disgust on his face.

"Shit! That's Billy and Jake." I scramble out of bed and hastily clean myself up, "Get dressed!" I order him as I put on my clothes again, struggling to find the top I had been wearing, but giving up and grabbing a new one. Ivar gets dressed at his vamp speed, chuckling as he's holding the destroyed shreds of my old top out to me.

"I liked that shirt..." I pout at him, taking the scraps in my hands sadly.

"It was in my way." He smirks proudly. "I'll replace it."

"Dog bones and a shirt, overall not the most expensive sexual recovery costs you've had, but still." I joke to him, heading down to the door when I hear a knock.

"Jake! Billy! You two are early, but they should be here any minute. Come in." I invite them in, but before they even move, we see the cruiser pulling down the road.
