Jasper and I have just finished an hour of tai chi on the new floating gazebo Ivar built for me at the house. He hasn't asked me about my mood from yesterday yet, which I am grateful for.
"I see you feel better than yesterday. Did you talk to Ivar last night?" Jasper asks me conversationally as we clean up.
"Yeah, we talked. Then he spoiled me rotten, that usually helps." I chuckle, then walk Jasper to his bike.
"Usually the magic cure." He laughs lightly.
"Hey Jas? You got any plans today? It's cloudy and Ivar is hunting." I ask him, suddenly getting an idea.
"No, Alice is with Bella today. She's frustrated she can't see the baby in her visions, so she's trying different methods today." He tells me. "Why? What did you have in mind?"
I grin at him wickedly, "We're going shopping." I say boldly, and his eyes widen since that's very out of character of me. "You're driving." I tell him, grabbing my own helmet off my bike and getting on his bike and wait for him to comply. I let him feel the mischief and determination in my decision, and he eventually rolls his eyes and smirks at me.
"Where to, ma'am?" He drawls out, getting on his bike in front of me.
I give him directions, and after a long questioning look, he takes off. We ride for about two hours until we reach our destination.
"Ducati?" Jasper asks me surprised. "You're getting a new bike?"
"Yeah!" I chirp happily, bounding on the balls of my feet in excitement for finally making up my mind on what I wanted. "I've had the same used bike for four years now. I've loved it, but I'm ready for something new and shiny. Plus, I saw one of the newer models recently and it made me drool. I need one now." I then head confidently into the store, Jasper trailing behind me.
"Hello, how can I help you two?" The young sale guys asked us when we arrived. He's got a swagger to his step as he confidently adjusts his tie while walking over to us, but he slows when he takes a closer look at us.
"I want one of the newer models. Black. Or maybe black and red or black and blue. Can you show me what you have?" I tell him confidently. His eyes scan over us skeptically and judgingly before landing on my engagement ring. I look down at my outfit and then at Jasper's, and realize we're both still in sweats from our tai-chi, and my hair is still in the now messy braid I slept in. I was so excited with my plan for the day, I'm just proud I remembered my phone and wallet before we left.
"Of course, right this way Mrs....?" He fishes for my name, but his tone lets me know he doesn't care.
"Aria Drakos, soon to be Eriksen. And you are?" I ask him politely as he leads us briskly through the show room.
"Carl. Nice to meet you both." He shakes my hand briefly and then Jasper's, who replies with his first name. "Right over here we have the latest 2006 models. Each one can come in variety of colors, but to show you inspiration, we have some of each. Our models include the Monster, the Multistrada, the Superbike 999, the Classic sport, and a Limited Edition Paul Smart." He lists off the models, pointing at each one before checking something on his phone and leaving Jas and I to admire the bikes.
"Definitely not the Multistrada or the Superbike." I say to Jasper, immediately disliking the body styles.
"Agreed. The Monster is nice, and the Classic has a certain beauty to it." Jasper replies admiringly, looking between the two.
"And there is the Limited... I must say, I like the shape of it. But there's something lacking..." I trail off and start to look around the showroom some more.
