A/N: Smut in chapter
The rest of the school year sailed by with nothing but good days and fond memories made. During the summer, I again split my time with the twins, the res boys and Leah, and the vamps. Ivar could be found at my house more often than not, sometimes Emmett or Jasper would tag along as well. Charlie liked hanging out with those two and watching sports with them, and he was just happy I had made so many friends.
Jasper had gotten himself a Harley bike, and we would take trips to our hiking spot together on overcast days. I always felt very peaceful when there in Port Townsend, like a familiar warmth that would wrap around my heart, and Jas loved to feel that emotion from me, so it was really a serenity trip for both of us.
A couple of times I would hang out with Alice, Rosalie, or Edward outside of their house. I loved the clothes I found when back to school shopping with Alice, Rose, and Esme before my senior year. We went to New York again, but we couldn't go for long because saw only sunshine the whole trip, so we could only shop together at night. Alice had crossed an annoying line when she sent me out during the day and texted nonstop about items I was about to look at, so I ended up shutting off my phone and accidentally freaking out Ivar when he couldn't get ahold of me for hours. That was fun to hear him get mad at Alice though, Rose and I were entertained.
I was surprised one night when Carlisle, Esme, and Edward took me and Ivar out to see Phantom of the Opera in Seattle, which was a really special and fun night for me. I had never seen that musical live before, and I loved it. On the drive home, Esme and Edward had sung their own version of the main duet, and they sounded really cute with their mother/son duo with their perfect vampire voices.
It's now my birthday again, my 18th birthday. It's the Friday before my senior year starts. I asked Ivar to bring me out to the same little hidden alcove he took me to last year, and Esme packed me a little picnic and we headed out, just the two of us. I was humming along to one of the songs from the musical we had seen last week as we calmly hiked to our spot.
"I see you liked the musical, fridr, you have been humming that song all week." Ivar teases me.
"I can't help it, it's stuck in my head!" I say sheepishly to him as I blush.
"Do you like musicals? I've not really heard you mention them before." He asks conversationally.
"I liked that one." I say truthfully. "The lead male, he has such a haunting voice, it really moved me. I find I always prefer the sound of male singers, I find it relaxing. My dad used to sing while he cooked, you know. Sirius, I mean, but Lucas sang too while he cooked. Dad really loved muggle rock bands and we used to sing together often." I say, thinking back fondly with a chuckle. "It's getting confusing having so many dad's, I can't just say Dad anymore without making you confused." I chuckle at the realization.
"Actually, I can always tell by your tone which father you are referring to." Ivar says softly, and I grin at him.
"Really?" I ask happily and he nods. "Well that makes story telling easier, good to know."
Ivar gets quiet as we arrive at our spot. I start to strip down to my bikini and before I get in the water, I turn and notice that Ivar is spacing out facing to the side. He seems nervous about something, then he takes a deep breath and nods his head.
The next thing I hear, I cannot even describe.
