Ivar got a lot more protective after we discovered Victoria potentially targeting me. He had Jasper take over the training sessions, and only went up to Washington to participate in the few hunting trips in Seattle. They hadn't caught anymore newborns and hadn't seen a glimpse of Yukio at all. Other than that, he was practically glued to my side.

I love the man, really, but when he tried to sit in my classes with me, I had to yell at him to stop. There's protective, then there's whatever the hell extra overprotective special level that he has become. I get it, I do, but we're six hours away from the army, and in a populated campus building, during the daylight. I think I'm safe here.

The other thing was he adamantly refused to have me go back up to Forks. I was fine with that decision, all the way up until I got a call from Jared two weeks after finding out about Yukio. A few things had happened back at home all in one day. A nomad, or more likely Riley, had entered Charlie's house while Bella was at the Cullen's. The nomad had gone into both her and my room, taking a sweater of Bella's and they are assuming they took something of mine that I left behind, but aren't sure what. The other thing that happened later that day, was that Leah and Seth had shifted.

It was a good news/bad news kind of thing. Leah had been visiting her family, hanging out with her brother near the beach, when Riley or whoever had likely passed too close to them. They both shifted. The good news was that no one else was around, meaning Harry never had his heart attack. The bad news was that Leah was indeed pissed. When she found out I knew too, oh the screaming she did at me over the phone was intense. She is angry, and rightfully so. We did try to prevent her turning, but I guess fate had other ideas.

Jasper and I finished out our first year of college. We both plan on switching to University of Washington on the Fall, me because I can do most of the coursework online and am bored out here in Oregon, and him because he has been away from his mate long enough and has also shown great personal growth in his self-control. Ivar and I are keeping the house for a few extra weeks, just to have me away until the battle, but Jas has already moved back up to the Cullen house. Our classes finished up a week earlier than Fork's high school.

Ivar and I talked and debated back and forth about where would be best for me to be at for the battle, which seems inevitable at this point. We weighed out different options for my placement. We both agreed I would not be in the battle nor up in the mountains with Edward and Bella. I suggested having me in La Push with the other imprints because the wolves scent will mask my own and because nothing happens there in the stories. He wanted to fly me to another country.

He compromised when we talked about Victoria could have potentially trained one of the newborns with the purpose of killing me specifically, and if I ran it may leave a loose end. It wouldn't take much effort to figure out I live in Oregon and go to school here, so I know I can't just stay here unguarded. In the end, he relented it was best to keep me with the imprints, since the wolves scents mask the whole territory, so long as a wolf stays to guard me.

As for Eddy and Bella, it took a much longer, crankier conversation with a broody Edward to convince him to be up the mountain with Bella. I had to argue that it was the only way to kill Victoria in the story, to have him taunt her and antagonize her into fighting. I ended up suggesting that both Leah and Seth go up there with them, so it is an easier fight. It takes one wolf away from the battle, but Ivar will be there to more than compensate.

Ivar was less pleased about this solution, wanting Leah to be in La Push protecting me. He came up with a brilliant compromise, he is going to have Esme join Edward, Bella, and Seth in the mountains while Leah guards the imprints. He reasoned that while Esme has been doing fine in the training, she is not a fighter, and would be better positioned protecting Bella. This made great sense to me, and was good because this way I would have a connection to the pack, and Leah could let us know what is going on.
