After the ceremony, our photographer, who has been taking photo's all during the day, pulled us aside right away to take photo's together with our wedding party. She got great ones of Ivar and I, as well as ones with Jay in the mix, or Shinobi. My favorite was the one where Jay and I both side hugged Ivar at the same time, who looked embarrassed but was also laughing. Jason and I used to do that to Roy all the time, or Damian when he was being especially bratty.

Another favorite was one where Shinobi decided to lay down on my cape train, so I just laid down in the snow with him and Ivar cuddled up and joined us. A fun photo to organize was the four guys all together, we couldn't get them all to smile at the same time, so it ended up with Charlie with his head in his hand, Jasper smirking at me, Ivar cautiously watching Jay, who was trying to discretely pull his gun on my husband. There's went a lot worse than the girls one, where Leah and I crouched down and hugged Carlie while she was cuddling with Shinobi.

As we were doing photos, the Cullen's took care of setting up the reception area, which at this point in the evening just meant putting out the food for the buffet and moving the chairs, everything else was already in place. We designed the reception to be scattered small round tables surrounding a large dance floor, all under a giant tent we rented.

The seating arrangement was tricky, and we had to think strategically to avoid the most discomfort. The main thing was not having wolves and vamps inside a room together, which was why we opted to have the reception outside, despite it being winter, and just added lamp heaters throughout the space. Another thing was keeping the Volturi away from the Denali sisters, and the humans away from the vampires tables so they wouldn't notice the lack of eating.

I really wanted everyone to have something as a keepsake from the wedding day, so instead of place cards marking the seating, each seat was marked by a custom engraved Viking drinking horn, which they could also use during the day for their beverages. I even worked with Carlisle and have flagons of blood, both human and animal, for our immortal guests. I had to consult with him, not knowing if the scent of the blood would overwhelm them or not, but he assured me that as long as everyone had fed recently, and it was outside, they would be fine. On each of the three vampire tables, there are discreet heaters that are keeping the blood warm, because apparently cold blood is gross.
