The first Monday after the start of winter break, the day after the football games, I woke up to a cloudy but surprisingly non-raining day. I rolled out of bed and showered and dressed in casual clothes, braided my hair off my face, and checked the weather report for the day. Cloudy, overcast, mid 40's, and only a slim chance to rain today. That all spells hiking weather to me.

As I'm grabbing my hiking boots and a jacket, I had a sudden inspiration of where to hike. And with whom. I took a minute and concentrated really hard on my new decision for the day, in hopes that Alice will see it and warn them.

I get on my bike and ride up to the Cullen house, then I take off my helmet and before I can even get off my bike, I am greeted with a kiss on my cheek

I get on my bike and ride up to the Cullen house, then I take off my helmet and before I can even get off my bike, I am greeted with a kiss on my cheek.

"What are you doing here, fridr?" Ivar asks me, smiling at me warmly as I kiss him softly in response.

"She's not here for you!" Alice chirps with a smile, walking towards me, holding a folded leather jacket.

"You're here for Alice? Already caving in to shop with her?" Ivar asks me jokingly.

"Wrong again." I say to him with a coy smile. "I am kidnapping someone and holding them hostage. There will be torture involved."

"Who is the lucky victim who you are stealing away then?" He asks me curiously.

"That would apparently be me." Jasper says, walking over to stand next to Alice, who hands him the jacket. He slips it on and looks at me questioningly.

"I'm taking you on a hike. I know of a trail that I think you will enjoy. There shouldn't be many other people out today, so it will likely just be us for the day." I tell him with a smile.

"And I am not invited? I'm hurt. My own girlfriend steals my own best friend. What will I do all day, knit?" Ivar jokingly pouts to us.

"If you can make mittens while we're gone, that'd be great." I tease him sarcastically. "Don't worry, I am sure one of the six other vampires here can manage to keep you entertained for a day. Or you could watch movies, since you are still so behind."

"I'll keep him company! I know for a fact he hasn't finished his Christmas shopping yet." Alice says with a challenging grin to Ivar.

"Jasper, get on quick." I whisper dramatically to the amused and confused blonde by my side. He complies and gets on the back of my bike and grabs lightly onto me, hesitant on touching me at all. Alice tosses him a helmet that she got from somewhere and he puts it on.

"Wait!" Ivar shouts at us as I turn on the bike and start to turn it around. I see Alice grab his arm and start to drag him towards the garage.

"That was cruel!" Jasper shouts from behind be, and I just drive off quickly laughing.

"Hang on, we've got a bit of a ride until we reach our destination. Are you ok back there?" I ask him loudly over the sound of the engine. I know he doesn't need me to shout, but I like to hear my own voice clearly.
