"Have you thought more about going to visit Italy?" I ask Ivar, sitting on our back porch, drinking some tea while he looks through his telescope. It's an early October evening, a little over a month after Carlie was born. We've been making the seating arrangement for the wedding, but I can't finish it without his deciding about his guests.

"Yes, I have." Ivar answers me, pulling away from his telescope to sit with me. "As much as the idea makes me uncomfortable, I think we should visit. I also would like to inform them about Carlie, let them know the existence of hybrids and how she is not a danger. They will take it better coming from me than if they find out later from someone else. She even reacted and behaved flawlessly when Charlie met her the other day. She blends in well with humans, despite the aging." He says evenly, content with his choice and I smile softly at him that he'll get to his his father figure again. "It was nice of the pack elders to say it was a legendary cure, that has, what was it? Mystical side effects?" He laughs lightly at that. I snort loudly, remembering Charlie trying to explain it to us when he finally got to meet his granddaughter. I had told him I already knew, that I found out about the wolves from my boys years ago.

"I still really want to meet Aro." I say truthfully with a bit of oddly placed excitement. "I wonder if he'll be able to see all my pasts. Edward says my thoughts have a strange 'two-toned' texture to them, which I've heard before a few times in my pasts, so I'm curious if Aro will see that too. And I'm very much looking forward to meeting the man you consider a father figure." I smirk at him playfully.

"Ah, Marcus will love you." He says warmly. "Felix and Demetri both will too, they love a strong woman. I warn you now, Demetri will likely try to snatch you up for himself, he's a real Casanova." He rolls his eyes at that and sends me a wink.

"I'll try to resist his charms, kjekken." I sarcastically reply. "So, when do we leave?" I ask him expectantly.

"Probably soon." He answer with a sigh. "I must call ahead, to warn them I am bringing my human mate and ask permission before you can enter the castle. Protocols must be observed, even if I am highly regarded within the coven. Thankfully, you were so young when we met, it really would have been almost a crime to change you, you were just barely above the mark. Plus, it is good we have plans to change you soon, so as not to be insulting to the laws. We are simply waiting for you to age up. I warn you, Caius may not see it that way. Please, do not antagonize him. His temper is shorter than a new shifter." He half jokes, half pleads of me at the end.

"I won't, I know better than to be disrespectful there." I say sincerely to him. "These are your friends and family, I will be my most charming and lovely self. Most likely." I grin innocently at him.

"Just... please tell me now, is there anything in your memories that will give Aro reason to have you killed? I know you have withheld some information about this world, which is fine, but there is a possibility he will see it. Please, think hard." He asks me very seriously.

"There is... there is a war, that happened in the stories. Over Carlie." I say slowly but then defend it. "But it was started on misinformation, and fanned by events that happened prior, events I have already prevented in this world. So simply, all Aro will see is a route that could have been, that will not be anymore." I summarize and feel Ivar relax at that slightly. "The story ends after the battle. So my knowledge of this world also ends, as does any potential advantage I could offer. I think he'll like what I show him. I like to think he'll appreciate what I've prevented." I say with hope. "Of course, I don't know him personally, so he could just read my thoughts and slaughter me anyway. Who knows?" I shrug off the topic as he glares at me for my dismissive attitude about my life.

Shockingly, Ivar isn't a fan of my occasional morbid sense of humor.

The next day, I meet up with Jasper to take a hike again. We haven't been together in a while because of the sun, and I want to go one more time before it gets too cold or rainy or I'm too swamped with wedding planning. Today felt like the perfect day just to relax together since Ivar has 'business' to attend to anyway. So, Jasper and I race along to our usual spot, and park our bikes at the base of the trail.
