Saturday rolled around, and the vamps were all off hunting for the day. I was hanging out with the res boys tomorrow, so I decided to spend the day getting to know Bella better. She spent the morning up in her room doing homework, but I called her down for lunch together. Charlie was out at work for the day, he left mumbling about being called in early in the morning.

"Bella, would you like the join me for some lunch, I made a large salad and some fruit infused iced tea." I say airily I as I knock on her open door.

"That sounds great, thank you." She mumbles quietly, tripping slightly over her chair as she stands up and follows me downstairs.

"So, how's the adjustment going for you? Are you making friends at school all right? Anyone I need to beat up for you?" I ask her casually.

"It's going fine, people are nice enough. I made friends with Angela Webber and Jessica Stanley, and also Mike Newton is nice too. A few others as well. I still can't get used to the rain though." She says with a huff at the end.

"I know Angela, she's a sweet girl. I've worked with her briefly in the past when she was covering student's extra curriculars for the paper." I say happily, remembering the kind girl. "I don't know the others too well, they aren't in my grade. As far as the rainy weather, just makes you appreciate the summer that much more when it comes." I add with a grin, knowing how much she hates the rain.

"Yeah I guess." She grimaces, not believing me. "I'm glad you don't ride your bike on really rainy days though. Ivar was really sweet to pick you up yesterday. Does he do that often?" She asks me curiously, and her concern for my well-being makes me smile genuinely.

"I only let him drive me around on really rainy or icy days. I love my bike too much to be chauffeured everywhere." I say stubbornly. "Shinobi, however, prefers Ivar's Charger. I used to have him ride in a little carrier bag, but he grew too big to ride with me anymore." I add with a pout, looking over at my tuckered-out dog asleep in his bed. I took him on a long jog this morning in the woods.

"I bet that was a sight." She says chuckling. "I have to say, you and Ivar are really nice together. How long have you been dating?"

"About two years now. He asked me out a few months after he and his family moved here." I say to her with a fond smile.

"That whole family... They're all very beautiful." She says sheepishly. "I was surprised when I first met Ivar. He was a little imposing looking, but he's really handsome. But then I saw the rest of the family, and they're all good looking."

"You haven't even seen the pretty boy yet, little Eddy is a looker. He's in your grade." I say with a wicked grin and she rolls her eyes. "But obviously my preferences are set for my man, imposing looks and all." I add teasingly and she blushes at her description for him.

"Sorry..." She mutters out in embarrassment.

"I'm just teasing, I know he has a big mean scary face, but I love him all that much more because of it." I tell her genuinely, accepting that everyone sees my soulmate as scary. "Get this bit of luck, he comes from a Nordic background too." I tell her excitedly.

"Really? That's what you are, at least on your mom's side, right?" She asks for confirmation.

"Yup! My other half is Greek, hence the awesome food." I smirk and point at the salad.

"You know, I remember some stuff about your parents... I remember how happy and in love they were. You and Ivar actually remind me of them. He looks at you like he would go to war for you. And you look at him the same." She says softly with a smile.
