Talking to The Family

Stefan and I decided to make the possibly very dangerous change of going to my brothers and sisters house and telling them we're having a baby. They've been getting along with Stefan more, so I'm really hoping it'll go better than I imagine it will.

"It'll be ok" "I know" I said, looking over at him. "Ava, I can tell your nervous" "Well of course I'm gonna be nervous, I never thought I'd have to tell my vampire family that I'd be having a baby after being 17 for centuries" "I get it believe me" "It's ok, it'll be fine... the one I'm most worried about is..." "Klaus" Stefan and I say together.

"Him and his anger issues" "Yeah... but either way... at least we'll still be together" "That's the corniest shit I've ever heard!" I laugh, making him laugh.

We pull up into my families mansion and I suddenly started to feel sick. I thought it was just because I was stressed about what they were gonna say, but I figured I'd tell Stefan anyway.

"I don't feel so good" "Hey, baby, listen, just breathe... ok? I'm right here, nothing is going to happen, ok?" "No, I know" "Your overthinking this" "I overthink everything" "Believe me, I know you do" I chuckle and hit him in the arm.

I'd eventually gotten myself together and we went to the door, knocking on it. Thankfully, it was Rebekah who opened it.

"Ava, Stefan what are you two doing here?" She asks with a smile, but the smile soon fades as she looks around for someone with a heartbeat.

"Bek?" "There's a human, I don't smell the blood I just hear the... oh my God..." she gasps, looking at me with a smile and Stefan as well. "Are you-?" I put my finger to my lips and nod. "Are the boys home?" "Yeah, their in the living room" "Good, Stefan, let's go" I say, grabbing his hand.

Rebekah sits next to Nik who sits next to Elijah. They all smile at us as we stand up in front of them.

"Um, we have to tell you guys something" "What is it? Your not moving are you?" "No, why does everyone think that?" They all laugh at my response. "What is it, Ava?" "I'm pregnant" There was complete and utter silence. No sounds except the beat of the unborn babies heart that I can now finally hear.

Stefan and I look at each other, mine is a more nervous glance than this. He just held my hand and squeezed it tightly in reassurance.
