Habiba's POV:
"Fasten your seat belts and remain seated." The pilot announces as soon as we get closer to landing.
I was nervous as we disembarked the plane, but honestly, I was more tense to meet my so-called husband.
"What's his name?" I asked.
"Najib," Amina replied with a huge smile.
What's he like? Is he like his mother or sister? I imagined as we strolled to two flamboyant cars waiting for our arrival.
As soon as we hit the road, I lowered the window gazing at the lovely sight before me.
Certainly, Lagos state was delightful, and the weather was chilled compared to Kano's.
It was cloudy and cool, the tall skyscrapers, the fancy vehicles on the road, and different people engaging in one thing or the other seemed far different from my hometown.
"Get your head inside the car." Amina chuckled.
"Oh, sorry," I sighed, adjusting my sitting position.
"You don't need to apologize for every single thing," She said softly.
"Okay, I'm sorry."
" You said it again!" She giggles.
"I'm used to the words." I smiled.
"So where are we heading to?" I asked as my curiosity to know our next destination was wearing me down.
"We're going home, we will soon reach the Banana Island." She smiled.
"Banana island! Do you live in a banana in the sea?" I gasped.
"No!" Amina clutched her stomach laughing hard.
"You're so funny and adorable!" She chuckles.
"It's probably called an island because it's surrounded by water and close to the sea, but it's a residential area," she explains.
"Ohh!" I replied.
"Yeah, and that's where you will be living with ya Najib." She grins happily.
"Ya Najib?" I asked.
"Yes, ya Najib, my brother, your husband." She stated that I wasn't aware already.
"He is currently not in the country but he will be back tomorrow." She adds.
The thought of a stranger being my husband made me more nervous.
"Is he aware of our marriage?" I asked.
"I'm sorry but I won't be answering that." she sighed.
"Oh, Okay."
I couldn't help but imagine how he looked, what he was like, and why Amina refused to answer my question.
"We're here!" Amina's voice snaps me out of my thoughts as I raise my gaze to the magnificent view.
It was an estate, Fajab estate was bodily carved on a billboard.
As we drove on, I observed the buildings were uniform; the duplexes were of the same colour, structure, and design; the only difference between the houses was the house numbers and street names.
"You love it?" She asks.
"Yes, The houses are beautiful," I replied.
"I'm so eager for you to see your room, am sure you will love it more." she squealed happily.
After a while, we were now in front of a huge mansion, this mansion was different from the rest of the houses.
It was far larger and taller and the structure of the house defines a royal castle I've only seen in foreign movies.
