Najib's POV:

Celebrations were in the air.

Grandma has finally forgiven me the moment I returned from Paris with the good news, our company is officially expanding abroad, what greater success could this be?

Adding to our celebrations is Grandma's approval of my marriage.

After summoning the courage to announce our wedding plans, we informed the whole family not expecting the reactions we got especially from Grandma.

Everyone was happy for us, you could see the support on their faces, and they looked genuinely happy as they congratulated us.

Precisely, It took Grandma an hour before she responded, a slap was what I expected when she approached with a poker look, but to my surprise, she hugged me tight.

"I've been harsh on you lately, I'm sorry." She sighed. "I allowed my selfish desires to blind me enough not to realize I may be hurting you."

"It's fine Grandma, I'm just glad you're supporting my decision."

"I will support you, you've always tried your best to make me happy, so it's time I make you happy too."  She smiled joining Zaitun's hands with mine.

"Though you deceived us and you joined my family based on lies, but  I will approve you as my granddaughter-in-law, the wedding should happen soon." Grandma smiled.

"Thanks, Grandma, please forgive us for our lies, and we're grateful for your support." Zaitun who couldn't contain her happiness giggled.

She was full of smiles and laughter.

"I've seen your love and care for my grandson, the way you stood by him even when his family turned their backs away proves that you will be a good life partner for him."

"Thanks, Grandma, I will never let you or this family down."

"Invite your family soon."

And that's how we found ourselves busy preparing for our wedding which is a few week away.

Zaitun wanted a lavish wedding, as she said...

"It's my first and last wedding, so it should be memorable, an event that the world witness and forever live to remember, we should have a long list of guests." She smiled.

And why not? After all, I never got the chance to plan or enjoy my previous marriage, it was more of a waste of time.

A wedding I didn't give my consent to, a stranger I took in as a wife from a nameless background, I won't consider that a marriage but a facade.

No wonder it ended as a scandal.

"But this time, there won't be any scandal but lots of happiness." I assured myself.

***

It was my Bachelor's Eve, invites had gone around as guests had begun to flood the event.

"Why are Bachelor parties made only for men? I want to join you." Zaitun sulks embracing me from behind.

"And why are the bachelorette parties made only for women?"

"I know." She pouts turning around to face me.

"It's just that I will miss you."

"I'm not leaving forever, it's just a night away, we have a lifetime to spend together Zaitun."

"Yeah, yeah, I guess I will be lonely tonight, I've no friend to hold a bachelorette party with, it will be just me and a glass of wine."

"Stop sulking already, I'm getting late." I sighed trying to unwrap her hands from my waist but she holds on tightly.
