Habiba's POV:
It's over...
My marriage, reputation, and self-respect are all gone.
Who will ever imagine that my signatures will ruin me and turn my life this chaotic?
Once Najib dejectedly walks away, the media hovered around me, they didn't miss a chance to capture every click with their cameras while they sought numerous questions I didn't have an answer to.
I'd begun to feel dizzy when Emma rushed to my aid.
"Get away from her!" She yells dragging me into the servant quarters, she locked us in.
"Ma'am have a sit, have water, you look exhausted and pale." Emma says observing how hard I struggled to breathe.
"Emma, why are you helping me?"
"Ma'am, I'm your maid, if I don't assist you then who will I assist?" She mumbled.
"Emma I'm guilty of two major crimes, why will you help a criminal like me, I'm no longer your ma'am, I'm just Habiba to you."
"No, you are my ma'am and you will continue to be, how will I believe you did all that... She burst into tears.
"Despite hearing that audio do you still find me innocent?" I said holding in my tears as I watched her weep.
"Ma'am I know you well, you're too innocent for what you're accused of, I have served you for months now so I know what you are capable of, so how do I believe them, I know you can never stoop so low...
"Emma thank you so much, you don't know how much your words mean to me." I smiled. "I'm glad that at least one person trust me, I could never, I said all that for my mother's sake." I cried.
"Ma'am it's fine, I won't let them arrest you, let go to my house, once Grandma returns, we will find a way to clear your name, you don't deserve all this." Emma sighed wiping away my tears.
"It's fine, we don't need to burden your family with this, I'll handle it myself."
"No ma'am I insist, you've helped me a lot, let me at least do this...
And just then a knock was heard.
"Who is that?!" Emma yells.
"It's me open up!" Mother-in-law replied.
I knew that voice like her existence.
Once she open the door, Mother-in-law rushed in, she wasn't alone Zaitun was with her.
"I'm here to say my goodbyes." She waves with a satisfying smile.
"Habiba I know you detest me, after all, I've snatched everything you stole from and I hope we never cross paths again, please I request you, let your chapter in Najib's life end, and you don't have to worry for him, I will take good care of him while your away." She smiled.
"Zaitun..." I muttered. "Do you think you will get away with this? I want you to remember that karma always hits back, what goes around comes around...
"And have you forgotten that you agreed to partake in this?!" She snapped. "You weren't forced, you did it for mummy right?" She pouts with a mockery smile and continued.
"So don't waste my time, I have to return to pacify Najib, he's very hurt by your crimes, someone needs to soothe him you know." She smirks with a glare.
"Keep those baseless quotes to yourself, have a safe trip to your slump and I never want to see you even breathing the same air as Najib, go far away!" She blew me a kiss, waved, and walked off humming happily.
