Habiba's POV:
"Ada!"
"Habiba!" Ada waves back running towards me in excitement.
"The queen of hearts is back." She laughed throwing her arms at me, we had a long hug.
"Oh Ada, what will I do without you, thanks for the assignment."
"It's not a free favor, it's a debt, so where are my travel goodies?" She scoffed gesturing her palm forward.
And luckily, I didn't resume empty-handed, I planned to reward her for the assignment, and just this morning I realize there was perfume laying on my drawer chest which hasn't been used, and knowing how much girls like me adore perfume, I brought it along.
"I got you this perfume, I hope you love it." I smiled showing her perfume.
"OMG!" She gasps snatching the bottle, she doesn't waste time as she unpackaged it scanning it closely.
"Are you for real? This is freaking Miss Dior."
"Yeah, you don't like it?"
"Are you kidding me?" She glares holding the package close to her chest.
"This is one of the best gifts have received, how much did you purchase it?"
"I didn't, I had a spare so I brought it for you."
"Wow! What job do you do? This is freaking expensive, oh I'm so gonna flaunt this on IG." She jumps excitedly.
"Really? Well, I'm glad you love it...
"Oh, I do! And who wouldn't, this is the most expensive piece, I saw it recently at a store."
"Well, so, how have lectures been in my absence?"
"Nothing much, even today's lecture has been rescheduled due to an emergency meeting currently going on with the deans."
"Phew! I'm so glad I didn't miss much."
"Well sit, I have a gist for you." Ada smiles adjusting for me to join her on the chair.
"What's up with you and Abdul?"
"Me and who?" I laughed at her curious expression.
"What do you mean?"
"Don't pretend something isn't brewing between the both of you, C'mon, guys don't make so much effort for a girl without a reason."
"Are you both dating?"
"What? No, why are you asking that?"
"Well it's obvious that Abdul likes you, remember I told you I have a lot of male friends and siblings, I know when a guy is in love...
"Hey, please don't put me in trouble, Abdul is just my friend, or should I say my hus...
"Your what?"
"Hmm!" I muttered staring at a curious Ada who seem to be in the mood of gossip as she draws her ear closer.
"Biko tell me, don't keep me in suspense."
"I'm married."
"You're what?" She blurts out while she laughs hard and stops halfway gazing at me from head to toe.
"Did I hear you right? You mean you have a husband?"
"Yes Ada, I'm a married woman and Abdul is aware so why will he be in love with me?"
"Chai! You Hausa girls and youth marriage ehn! When will it stop?" She exclaims.
"Well in my town, girls my age are already a mother of two."
