Habiba's POV:
Laying next to him made me feel safe and warm like I didn't just survive death.
Being in his arms all night was a feeling I never want to stop experiencing, The feeling of warmth fondness, security, and assurance that he will be there to protect me from any sort of danger.
My body had completely warmed up by now while I remained snuggled in his arms, inhaling his cologne; I ran my hands on his face, feeling a surge of excitement.
While he slept, I observed his sharp features. From his long lashes to his pointy nose, down to his pink lips all perfectly carved on his face.
Looking at him this close I came to understand that there are two sides to Najib...
The arrogant Najib and the soft-hearted Najib.
The arrogant Najib was all fake; his rude ways were just a pretence to intimidate me; the real Najib is the caring and affectionate man who has taken care of me till now.
The arrogant Najib would never risk his life for a girl he considers a maid, worry, fear, and concern were all visible when he saved me from dying. And the way he wrapped me into his arms throughout the night was as if he was afraid that if he let me go I might end up being in danger again.
The arrogant Najib wouldn't have withstood spending a whole night in this shack, especially on a torn mattress like this, even going as far as cleaning my vomit...
The arrogant Najib I know wouldn't do any of these acts, but here he was, and now that I realize this, I felt smitten by him.
"Good morning, how do you feel?" His voice came through.
"Morning," I smiled unwrapping myself from his arms.
"Are you still cold?" He asks.
"No, I'm fine, and thanks for last night." I smiled, d and he grabbed my arm, m pulling me closer.
"Don't ever put yourself in such dangerous situations." He frowned taking a while to look at me.
"I won't, but is the little girl fine?" I say cutting away from him.
"The one you rescued? I guess she is fine."
"Oh, I hope she's fine."
"She will be, C'mon, freshen up, wed to see a doctor."
"A doctor? For what?"
"To examine if you're truly okay; last night, you scared me to death, and it was already late, or else we would have gone to the hospital."
"I'm able," I replied t, trying to get up from the mattress that held me back.
"You can't stand properly and you're saying you're fine?"
"I might be down with a cold and a little fever, but I'm okay. Trust me, let's go home, everyone must be worried." I smiled which made him gasp.
"Oh my God! My phone!" He snaps.
I watched him trying to switch on his dead phone while he looked very anxious.
"What happened?" I asked.
"The damn phone isn't responding, it's soaked." He sighed.
"Sorry." That was all I could say as I watched his wrinkled expression.
"Oh shit!"
"What?"
"Zaitun?!" He gasped.
"Zaitun? What happened to her?!"
