Habiba's POV:

"Please be careful with the meal as you drive," I said to the driver while placing the food basket on the passenger seat.

"Okay, Ma'am." He replies.

"Drive safe."

Returning from the hospital, I didn't even catch my breath when I began to prepare dinner as Mother-in-law instructed, with the assistance of the cook it was a lot easier and faster.

After dinner, I found my way to bed, laying flat on my bed, I began to replay Zaitun's words before she tripped over the stairs.

"I will always be a step ahead of you." I recollected her words.

"Certainly, her fall was deliberate and she used it in succeeding to shut me up, I can't believe this!" I muttered.

"Now I wonder what will happen? I wonder what she will say to them?"

"Ugh!" I groaned rolling on the bed.

"Zaitun is a witch, I mean where did she get the nerve to risk her life like that? She could have died."

"The doctor, it seems he was bribed to lie or is he so unskilled not to diagnose that she was never pregnant." I sighed thoughtfully but nothing was comprehensible.

All my thoughts began to wear me out but I needed a shred of concrete evidence to prove her lies.

There was one way to find out, and that way made me anxious, it was totally out of place to go through her things but the thought of finding a piece of evidence against her wasn't a bad idea either.

I was still laying on the bed thinking if I should go ahead with my plan when I heard a soft knock on the door.

"Yes, come in."

"Habiba, you're awake? I thought you'd slept." Mother-in-law walked in with an exhausted look.

"Welcome ma, I was about to."

"The meal was delicious, thanks."

"That's the little I could do." I smiled.

"What you said about her pregnancy being fake, how true is that?" The asked curiously.

Her face clearly shows her suspiciousness and curiosity to learn the truth, but it amazed me because just earlier she didn't believe me and now she was asking.

"Yeah it's true, she was never pregnant, just faking it all along."

"Hmm, thanks, I will look into it myself, good night."

"Before you leave take your file, you asked me to get it from Mr Caleb."  I sighed heading to fetch it from my closet.

"Thanks for reminding me." She smiled collecting, she inspected it closely, then a smile spread on her face when she pulls my hand and places the envelope back unto my palms.

"I tend to be careless and forgetful, so please I will request you to keep it safe until Amina's dad returns, he normally keeps them, and I trust you will."

"Y...yes."

"And I will like to plead with you that no third party should know about it, please." She sighed.

"Okay." I replied wondering why she was trusting me with it, and no one should find out...?

I still can't accept that the woman before me with a wide smile is the same woman who used to despise me back then, something was fishy but what could it be?

While she left, I was bent on looking for a safe place to hide the document, the room had lots of places the document could stay without even the cleaners in charge of cleaning the room daily would notice, but Najib knew every corner of the room and I'm afraid he might mistake it for his and take it, So I took my time surveying the whole room until I found a chest in my closet I never knew existed.
