FINAL CHAPTER, PT~1

Hours passed and there was still no news of Najib and the doctors, it's been 10 hours since the whole Garba family awaited the fate of their heir.

"Will he survive?" Grandma cries holding unto her son.

But no one could give her a satisfying reply, all she wished for was to have him alive no matter the case, she couldn't afford to lose him.

She could sell off their wealth to have him breathe again.

Once the bulb of the operating room switched from red to green, that made everyone alarmed as they rushed to the door panicking about what news they will receive.

"Doctor, how is my grandson?"

"Is Ya Najib alive?"

"Was it successful? Is my son fine?"

The whole Garba family threw their curious questions at the doctors.

"Relax everyone, it was a successful surgery, but we will move him to the ICU unit for further treatment."

"Ya Allah, thank you!" Grandma bursts into tears thanking her lord for granting her wish.

"He survived it!" She cries hugging her granddaughter Amina who was also in tears, tears of joy.

"Alhaji Aminu meet me in my office, there is something I will like to inform you about his case." The doctor announces.

"He sustained a brain injury and some dislocation of bones, thankfully we were able to stop his internal bleeding but that led him to a coma."

"Coma?"

"Yes, it's a miracle your son survived, most cases wouldn't."

"We're grateful, so how long will he be in a coma for?"

"I can't say, but I can estimate maybe a week, month, or even a year."

"What! Please assure me he will be back on his feet...

"Yes sir, we will do our best to provide him with the best treatment."

"Thanks, can we see him?"

"Yes, the nurses will see to that."

"Thanks, Doctor."

"It's my duty."

One after the other, the Garba family were let in to see their Son after fighting death.

Everyone we're relieved to see him breathing again, the terrific way they found him didn't give them the least hope he will survive, but at last he did.

"My Najib is a fighter, he survived to achieve greater things, please wake up my dear child, everyone is waiting, open your eyes soon." Grandma sighed.

"Grandma, that reminds me, where is Zaitun, She disappeared as soon as we arrived at the hospital."

"Yes Amina, I haven't seen her too, please check around for her, I'm sure Najib will be happy to have her by his side."

"Okay."

The Garba family could now breathe properly as their heir was out of danger, but yet, they feared his present vegetative state.

He lay motionless engaged with lots of machines and drips running into his veins.

It was a relief for them but not for his wife-to-be.

Zaitun had fled once she received a call from her partner in crime.
